9-9-99 and All is Well

from the unless-you-can't-read-this dept

As most people thought, the 9-9-99 date didn’t turn off the world’s power supplies, and we’re all still alive and well. It seems there were basically no problems. So, maybe this will lure people into a false sense of security for Y2K.

According to a report in one of the UK Sunday papers two real occurrences of
the fabled 9/9/99 bug have been found, one in a non-critical medical
application. It would be interesting to have more information about this as
I have always thought that the 9/9/99 bug sounded like press scaremongering
rather than something that would really arise.
