Yet Another Internet Phone

from the nobody-told-me-today-was-internet-phone-day dept

Okay, Prash brought up SprintPCS and their Yahoo deal, Todd is too damn excited about those Nokia phones, but how ’bout these new iPhones from Infogear? Okay, so they’re not portables, but regular desktop phones that let you surf the internet as well. I was hoping for another mobile version. I guess it’s not as exciting as Prash and Todd’s finds. I’ll go back to hunting, then… But, you can still head on over to Infogear to see pics.

Pretty cool. If they’d add a wireless, full-size keyboard, and allow “big” fonts, it would pass the granny test. But they have to get the price down fast to sell it — I can get an emachine for $399. You’d think the telcos would figure out some way to subsidize the up-front cost to get people to incur more phone charges — perhaps requiring users to dial a local toll number to get their messages. Interesting.
