The End of Portals

I’ve said for some time now that I thought “portals” was definitely a word that was losing favor. Here’s an article that says portals themselves are losing favor. Not a very in depth article. One amusing point is it says “even Yahoo realized it needed to expand by buying Broacast.com…”. As far as I can tell Yahoo has been expanding into different areas for years. It’s not like they suddenly realized their business was threatened and decided to move. Besides, I’ve heard them refer to themselves as a media company for well over a year now…
