Nettaxi Suing GeoCities

from the when-in-doubt-go-legal dept

Nettaxi is suing GeoCities preemptively, after GeoCities threatened Nettaxi for naming some of their communities after “Wall Street” and “Capitol Hill” (two names GeoCities uses). I can’t decide where I stand on this one. Those are pretty generic names, but the overrall naming scheme of Nettaxi, is most certainly a GeoCities imitation. I think in the end I have to come down on the side of Nettaxi. Is GeoCities really harmed by Nettaxi’s use of those names?
