While I’m skeptical about the potential revenues from charging for Wi-Fi access, I realize that many sites will charge at this stage in the game. Right now users pay via credit card or prepaid cards for single-use Wi-Fi access. Excilan is working on a system that charges your mobile phone bill for Wi-Fi access. I think this will be more popular in Europe where people are getting used to paying for things like ringtones via premium SMS.
