Blog To Court: Check Your Facts

from the and-the-blogkids-go-wild dept

Wired has the story of the legal blog that found an error in a court decision – and it just so happened the judge in the case read that blog. The judge corrected the mistake and emailed the blog’s author to thank him. As you can imagine, this has made many in the blog world go crazy, because they see it as proof that blogs matter. They seem to be looking at it as the crowning moment for the idea of “blogs as fact checking machines”. It’s funny how the effort to make this small thing into a big thing by saying it proves that blogs aren’t about navel-gazing, has turned into a huge navel-gazing extravaganza.
