Tying Online Purchases to Education

from the that's-how-to-get-'em-to-buy dept

An article in Upside talks about e-commerce sites that are learning the best way to create stickiness and get people to buy: it's mixing education with e-commerce. In other words teach people about products, and then give them the chance to buy. To some extent, I think this is a good idea. I'm sure it works now for the folks who want to be educated, but I think a lot of people just want to go in, get what they need, and move on. So, I'm not sure how much of the market actually wants to be educated.
