The Next 20 Years
from the predicting-the-future dept
Wired is running an article about a bunch of futurists predicting the future (that’s what they’re supposed to do, I guess). I always wondered how futurists get such a job, and who checks up on them? Anyway, these predictions seem pretty straight forward (perhaps I should apply for the job as well). Put simply: you ain’t seen nothing yet. Things are going to keep changing and the pace is only going to increase. Computers will start thinking for themselves, people are going to have to keep on learning all the time to keep up, and biology and genetics and such are the “next big thing”. There you go. 20 years of the future in a couple of sentences.

*sigh* Same old rubbish then. When will people come up with some new predictions! (or realise that the olds one stopped working years ago)
