No Paul please enlighten me. The sad fact is that 500,000 is not really that much money these days. I am no financier and really dont see an investment being able to return a guaranteed return of 10% a year. I am 42 now lets say i will live to 92, thats 50 years. You think and initial investment 500,000 will:
    a)last 50 years
    b)return at least 10% a year, guaranteed.

Hey boB, how would you know that "Much of the software on P2P networks is infected with malware" You have your P2P running right now dont you?

"often stuff that will track you" - Oh you mean like my ISP and the government. At least I can get rid of the malware junk.

"and try to replace your links with affiliate links." - You mean like going to (insert website here) and getting infected?

"Do you still use the verb "share" to describe infecting someone with an STD?" - Please cite when it ever was used that way.

Are you fucking stupid. No need for an answer. If the "owner" has not set up any way for a user to obtain their content and receive payment then STFU if PPL get it elsewhere.

"the original War Games movie" "something of value" - That can be debated elsewhere.

If the industry was not so afraid of the god awful pie-rates, then you would have a central location, or a few services, to have access to everything ever recorded.

If you cant give the people what they want, when they want it, someone else will. Its basic customer service.

Its called false flag terror. Brought to you by your local alCIAda, and FBI.

    Nothing new here.
Look for the news video of the Oklahoma City Bombing of the bomb squad going into the building to remove "a third bomb"

Look for the video news clips of the explosives in a van stopped on or near the George Washington Bridge on 9-11.(Bet you never knew about those)

At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. Nice try AC. But when YOU have to spread em, bare assed, for some punk cop to put you in to a single person holding cell, then come back and tell us how you felt, and if it was right.

"If you are going to lock people up, you need to know they aren't armed and they aren't carrying drugs or contraband. Simple deal.

Yeah because I was hanging out with my friends with contraband up my ass, and then would do said contraband after it had been there. Yeah right

"It's not hard to imagine gang members working hard to get stopped for a traffic offence, getting tossed in jail, and sneaking in weapons to use against other gang members in the jail at the time."

You would be put into a local holding cell until you see a judge for bail. Also depending on what you had done and if it was a jail-able offense. You would not be put in GP in a real PRISON. Logic FAIL.

    500,000 is 10 years at 50k.

    "if you invest prudently"
I watched a co-worker lose close to 100,000 last year or so. When you come across a guaranteed investment that turns 500,000 into "set for life", please let the rest of us know.

A fair goal of 50-60K a year will set most responsible people up.

Without the right to do so. So while it may be fast, it is wrong. And that's the point. Anyone can have free speech removed in a heartbeat, but it takes much longer to get it re-instated, and the damage to society has already been done.

WOW what a POS Ray Charles must have been.

Apparently, before he died, Charles gathered a bunch of his children, and told them that he was leaving each of them $500,000 (and enough to cover the taxes on the money) if they signed agreements stating that was all they would get, and that they would not seek to get anything else from his estate.

Wow. Why you wouldn't want to leave your spouse/offspring an equal cut of everything?

I guess Ray just saw things a little different than I do.
I guess they just didn't see things eye to eye.

    Um...

I am 42 and when I was around 18, I got busted for "disorderly conduct" and upon being brought to a holding facility I was searched THOROUGHLY. A young Afro-american man cam in and snapped a rubber glove on. I said what you going to do with that? He said we have to check your orifices. I said why, its not like I have a joint up there and would smoke it even if it was. He laughed and said bend over and spread em. He just looked thank god. But getting your ass looked at for just sitting around (he heard "drag racers" and assumed that because I had an 81 Firebird and my buddy had a 73 Split Bumper Camaro, it must have been us)was way too much. I understand you dont want weapons and drugs in a holding cell, but IN MY ASS!!!!!!

So no law needed to define this as it has been going on for a long time.

  • New York City Cooks Up Annoying Plan That Will Pressure NYC Businesses To Buy .nyc Domains They Don't Want Or Need

    Re:

"Seems like you are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here."

Seems like someone does not work in corporate America. In corporate America these days the Brand is EVERYTHING. Anything that may tarnish that brand, must be stopped. Especially with family orientated products/brands. Imagine your kid searching for, lets say for arguments sake, Disney. So kid searches for Disney and gets directed to Disney.xxx or .NY where another user has set up porn, warez, etc. From Disneys, or any other corporate entity's perspective, that will tarnish the brand. So yes, companies will run out to protect their brand out of fear. I know the company I work for rushed out to buy the .xxx and will most likely buy the .ny as well.

Calling it a tax, IMHO, is incorrect as it appears to be more like extortion. The commercials advertising this appears to confirm my assumption.
