  • 'Cyberbullied' School Administration May Have Violated Student's First Amendment Rights By Suspending Him

    Question

Tim, regardless of school policy, he can be suspended for slander. The fact that Rosario said what he said here

    3. Now I can tweet whatever I want and I hope one of y'all mother f*ckers snitch on me

Indicates rather clearly knew exactly what he was doing was slanderous and is provoking them after a court ruling. That's harassment in the same way as filing a restraining order against someone and then purposefully putting yourself within the distance you requested the person stay away from you in the restraining order only to get them in more trouble.

Rosario with that tweet provoked the staff and got suspended for violating their rights as the accused. It saved the kid from being thrown in juvenile hall.

Rosario was cut from the basketball team. Then he appealed to the coach who barely played him or put him in second string....and because Rosario thought he was better than everyone else...he decided to publicly tweet about his coach saying he is a bitch [likely for making him work hard for what he wanted...because you know...that's what coaches are paid to do].

Tim Cushing, I'm sorry, but he got suspended on his own merits for his disrespect and not handling the rejection like a man. Rosario is a pussy for not being man enough to accept that he got cut from the team for a reason.

    On a side note...

Tim Cushing likes to take it in the ass!!

Don't hit the report button, I'm exercising my first amendment rights.

    Respect and school

First and foremost policy of any school is that you can in fact be critical of the current administration. But when you tweet about and to school administrators, faculty, and staff in the way this asshole kid did, and note they were targeted specifically from all the other school staff, you deserve to be suspended. Please note Rosario got suspended for his disrespectful actions and he was not at all exercising his first amendment rights by harassing his targets. He wasn't censored, he was suspended. Note the hours of the tweets...are they not during school hours?

  • DOJ Says Public Has No Right To Know About The Secret Laws The Feds Use To Spy On Us

    Wally ( profile ), 08 Jul, 2013 @ 04:10pm

Re: Re: Stop making excuses, loser...

Color me wrong, but I think that the acting head of the IRS responsible for delaying non-profit status for conservative groups like the Salvation Army because they were a conservative group with the word "army" in the title of their banner. Obama appointed him. Obama may or may not be the worst abuser in US history but in modern day US, he's more corrupt than Richard Nixon was during the Watergate Scandal.

Then there is his accuastion of Snowden being a computer hacker as he believed the word of the DOJ on that. He was responsible, could hae demanded things due to executive order, and he could have stopped it when he took office in late 2008.....he signed and expanded FISA in 2010 expanding upon the policy. PRISM was not spying on US citizens regardless of where they went in the world and only monitored those here on temporary visa before the FISA amendment in 2010...they simply included everyone.

Now, he was a rperesentative for the city counsil of Chicago in the Illinois State Senate and was close to a former mayor who got busted for tax evasion before the Obama Campaign in 2008.

I would say that this is a big problem.

  • NSA Recruiters Get Smacked Down By University Of Wisconsin Students

"One of the recruiters discussed how they tend to socialize after work, dressing up in costumes and getting drunk (referenced below). I can imagine that also exerts a lot of social pressure and works as a kind of social closure from which it would be difficult to escape."

Admittedly I would be driven mad to do this if I had to keep a secret.

  • Anyone Brushing Off NSA Surveillance Because It's 'Just Metadata' Doesn't Know What Metadata Is

    Wally ( profile ), 08 Jul, 2013 @ 03:54pm

    Best Explanation...

Most digital cameras provide metadata on .jpg files or .raw files. This information includes a lot of details from the DPI resolution to the f-stop your camera used to take a shot.

Our smart phones and electronic devices have such data on them...the meta data stored on your smart phone can include and does store the IP adress, MAC Adress, Your name, your registered name, your phone number, who you last called, who last called you, who last texted you, who you last texted, your credit card info, how many minutes each call was, how much space your texting used and the last text message sent or received. Any questions so far?

Admittedly, how anyone survived that is nothing short of a miracle. Especially when the CFO of Facebook changed her flight plans to miss the flight that crashed.

    Boston and Bhengazi

US authorities were warned that something was going to happen at Behngazi and at Boston...and due to the NSA's overflow of collected domestic data, they couldn't confirm or search for any sufficient hints. Hilary Clinton went to the NSA and asked if they could confirm something was going to happen.

After Benghazi, it took the current administration 10 months to make a press release on the matter based on what the media had already leaked. That was the only time I think I could ever be grateful for Wikileaks.

So here's what I see happening:

The Obama Administration is turning a blind eye to the activities of the NSA. It gives them the excuse to spy on the opposing political party, the Associated Press, and US citizens to make sure that we all conform to their worldly ontrinsic ideas. The IRS scandal showed an extreme bias that the US federal government had (the Salvation Army had to wait a year and a half for non-profit status). The blind eye is the icing on the cake.

This may have started with Bush Jr., but the Obama administration took it and ran with it to deeper levels than just stopping it...mainly to monitor the press to make sure the Obama Administration looks good.

The largest amount of contrast is that there is no gaffe Bush Jr. did that we didn't hear about from the AP and this includes FoxNews. So what we have here in the Obama Administration is cover up after coverup to save face.

    Re: Jokes

The issue is that the state of Ohio has the highest reported amount of recreational prescription medication use related deaths in the nation. You would not believe the amount of potential clients I had who thought I had an MD thinking that psychiatry = psychology and faking their disorders during Ohio State's final exams. It was unbelievable!

I grew up in Mount Vernon and two close friends of mine died due to recreational use of prescription medications.

Furthermore, Mike DeWine has a huge sense of humor and judging by his usually jovial disposition, this coffee mug was not questioned without sufficient reason. The problem has hit my state hard.

  • Game Creator Finds That Knockoffs Can't Match His Awesome Game

    Wally ( profile ), 02 Jul, 2013 @ 05:39am

    In app purchases

I don't mind in app purchases as long as they aren't required to complete a task in a game. I stopped paying attention to FarmVille because of it.

I grew up on games in a GUI environment Ina time when text adventures were all the rage with PC's, my family had a MacPlus. I grew up on the works of Duane Blhem and a few other titles.

Tell me, is it so bad to still enjoy the good old 2D Mac games if they are converted over like Stuntcopter, Zero Gravity, and Cairo Shootout?

If you plan on getting the Stuntcopter remake for iOS, make sure it's the iPad version since it has more of the old Mac feel to it :-3

Anyway enough rambling. Money is tight right now as I'm working to get my license recertified so I can practice again. I will definitely have to give Crazy Fishing a try :-)

One of the biggest things I can like and dislike about knockoffs is that they will always suck if done improperly. They bring a certain charm to life.

  • Broadcasters To FCC: Now That Our Audience Is Gone, Can We Swear More?

    Wally ( profile ), 27 Jun, 2013 @ 11:41am

    Re: Re: Re: Re: Re:

Ok the point is different people handle those words differently. If the FCC does remove restrictions on adult language it would be placating to those who don't mind it so much. Specifically speaking, one group's view cannot really outweigh another's. Standards of linguistics and morals may change or evolve over time.

If a show had more pervasive swearing, one group might be turned on to it, while others might flip out and not watch it. Brother, regardless of what you prefer, some other person might not agree to it. The broadcasting companies asking the FCC to remove the restriction are clearly out of their gourds. They are asking the FCC to prefer their views over that of their own viewers. The thing is that some groups would be very upset about increased adult language on a daily basis and they would make it worse on themselves.

The broadcasters are basically blaming the FCC for ruining their shows by not having swearing...I don't know where you've lived over the years, but I think the quality of television has declined since the mid to late 1990's. There have been a few gems here and there, but I would rather blame the broadcasting companies for losing viewership due to inflated budgets.

I never said children would turn out bad....but I'd rather be the one teaching my children about it and them picking it up from me so I could explain it to them rather than from the box in front of them.

I will point one thing out. There is an art to swearing as an actor...and there is an art to acting it out, and there is an art to writing it in at a dramatic moment. TV shows are written to be melodramatic because of the short time span in which things are having to be portrayed...it takes precise dramatic timing to act out swearing otherwise it looks casual when it isn't.

So I do agree with both of you.

I'm just glad nobody questioned how I pointed out the hypocrisy in those companies asking to have uncensored nudity and swearing in the name of art.

    Re: Re: F-Bomb

The problem is that the broadcasters are asking it in the name of frowning culture and fewer viewers. I rarely use adult language rarely and it's only if I'm extremely angry (using f-bombs) or startled (shit)...a lot of the "art" the broadcasters wish to portray doesn't stem from art of acting at all. Only the very best of actors can pull off the more realistic balance. The thing is that networks want to allow unnecessary use of adult language and it's vastly hypocritical to ask the FCC to remove the restrictions. I can't stand pervasive unnecessary casual swearing in a show because it is very distracting.

So let's look at this. These networks often fought against fair use clauses in art and culture. So when they go asking to remove these restrictions in the light of less viewership, and in the name of culture of free speech, it's vastly hypocritical because they themselves tried to stifle fair use and free speech therein.
