  White supremacy is not democracy

  The reason Mamdani is different to other politicians in the US is because he is not USAmerican. He used to live in democratic South Africa, so he has actual experience of living in a democracy, something that USAmericans have never experienced. I get it, if you have lived your whole life in a racist, white supremacist country with extreme white privilege, you think that is democracy, because you have no other experience to compare it to. White supremacy is not democracy, white privilege does not equate to human rights. You have no experience of democracy.

  China's new law

  This is brilliant! This is exactly the kind of thing Western governments need to do to combat misinformation and disinformation online. Instead of all these censorious "age verification" laws that the West keeps implementing in order to control the flow of information, make sure people putting out critical information actually know what they are talking about. This is democracy in action!

  Having grown up under apartheid in the 70s I can tell you we never had anything remotely like this happen. Even during the darkest days of the State of Emergency did the apartheid government do this.

  Luddites

  It's a common misconception that Luddites were anti-technology and anti-industrialisation. Not so. They were anti-capitalist. They were against the factory owners keeping all the profits while paying the workers starvation wages. They were painted as being against "progress" by the extraction class, much like what is happening today.
