    Is there a disbarment process?

I'm assuming there is - criminal lawyers getting p0wned by their clients - but for this nonsense ? Criminal conviction bars then doesn't it?

    What about continual vexatious lawsuits?

it costs everyone time and money for nothing. At some point they should be putting to their Bar authority they are no longer fit for standing in front of a court.

Sorry UK based (and boy do we have problems, but asking questions about US helps - what lunacy happens to you guys we get, only with tea. )

    Still don't get it

    150 Billion in debt ?
Think how much infrastructure they could have built with that. More customers, better service and still make a profit.

    Talk about missing the point

    So

They've spend about 250 billion for basically companies that own time limited rights to programming?

Yet the bit of the market that could make money is the hard lines that supply the data if they invest and expand?

They own a crumbling infrastructure, but want to bill more for less?

What? Focus on the wrong things why don't you.

Re: Re: Re: Re: The US of A needs to trademark "FOOTBALL" to kee

Not strictly true - soccer comes from association football , soccer is the diminutive, like rugger is for rugby football. I think it was a public school term (Eton/Winchester/Harrow, not Sudbury Comprehensive) The history of the game of football has many offshoots, and while being a Brit and seeing football in the US for a type of Rugby/concussion by consent is weird its not strictly wrong.

No. We have a lot of experience of local terrorism for as long as I can remember. this supposed threat by thousands of jihadists is a load of nonsense. The purpose of the bill is to try install the same big brother "we see you" provisions that all governments/civil service (decide who actually want it) want .
The only thing about the 7/7 bombings that really made a difference was that I had to show my bag at a cricket match . That was more about taking alcohol in than terrorism .

We are not scared. Our Government are .

    What Duck ?
    Pterri reference

To be honest, I would find it annoying if I went specifically to Amazon to buy a "magic TLA superwatch" or whatever and they didn't say we don't have it, but here's the "super FLA megawatch". Don't know where that stands in trademark issues because I don't care - if I'm searching for a specific thing , not being told they don't have it is not what I want.

Then again I generally search for what I want and select from the links that search brings up.

    Encryption smercryption

    *naive mode on*
Surely even if they manage to get some kind of backdoor for online encryption through - the terrorists will just go back to the old practise of one time pads, book codes and number stations (which exist on twitter of all things) and other traditional methods used to securely encrypt data that have been used since the last century? yeah there has to be key exchange but that's not quite as onerous as it once was.

It's a totally pointless exercise, for the problem its trying to solve.

Same here, and when its with people who want to enjoy the same thing, its a joy!

Not sure about the US, but there is a growing trend in the UK for more "grown up" cinema experience (not using the word adult for obvious reasons )

Comfy sofas, relaxed atmosphere, proper bars where you can share a bottle of wine together, no problems with phones and idiots, its for people that want to enjoy a film experience in a relaxed environment that treats its customers as adults.

Last time I went to a 'normal' cinema it was uncomfortable, slightly stressful and to be frank rather rubbish for the near on 50 quid spent, waiting and buying the DVD would have been a better option .

More seriously the safety aspects of this are far more than how Uber operate - so I see the problem, but its still not something you just go "NO" to. A decent conversation/negotiation needs happen (and perhaps should have happened first?) about how it should operate .

Reported cases are on the up - Over here in the UK we're going through a whole epoch of childhood heroes being taken to court for sexual abuses done to children and adults.

All that says is that is it easier to report these things now and will be taken more seriously than before.

More reports to the police NOW does not mean that there were any less ACTS happening in the past.

I do wonder about the gambling thing in the states though . Why ?

I've heard its a sort of state based matter on what's allowed or not , so if that is right , why is the federal govt getting involved ? or have I got it totally wrong ?

Don't understand what the problem is. Just down to not getting their share ? Or some moral thing ?

Its not guaranteed that'll it'll be me , but given my typing and grammar quirks you'd be able to spot a fake, if anyone cared .
