I don't usually comment, but this post resonated with me. The reason I am part of your loyal readership, Mike, is that you and the other Techdirt writers clearly put thought into your writing. I don't always agree with opinions expressed here, but those opinions are usually very well-reasoned and well-informed. Most news outlets mistake neutrality for objectivity, and still don't even get the neutrality right.
How would this proposed law handle satellite images? Does someone at NASA or Google have to worry about being tossed in jail? I'm sure that's just the tip of the unintended consequence-iceberg for this silliness.
I would have guessed that most guys feel guilty when they're sitting naked in front of the computer, but it never would have occured to me that it's because they're telecommuting. Must be that Catholic upbringing . . .
