The ridiculous insert the disc every time is really just the cherry on top of this awful thing. What really cripples it is the price tag. $4,000? A couple hundred bucks in hard drives and a free piece of ripping software does the exact same thing as this and I never have to insert any discs.
I live in Austin and there were other immediate bonuses to this competition not even covered in this article. Almost immediatley after the Google announcement that they were coming to town my internet noticeably jumped up in speed to about 25% faster. Prices being advertised have plummeted as well. This is without Google actually even being here yet. Hopefully it will only get better when they are actually here. Not that it matters for me personally I will be immediatley be switching to Google Fiber.
I bought an Xbone just on loyalty because I always go MS. I was fine with that decision until the Xbone. The thing truly is garbage. There are amazingly basic features that were standard last gen just completely missing. They just a week ago made it possible to view how much space is free on your hard drive. Everything is a complete step backwards. Even the UI looks like it was thrown together by a bunch of 6th graders with down syndrome. Don't even get me started on the completely worthless kinect. It adds absolutely nothing to the gaming experience or the experience of the X1, all it adds is $100 in MS greedy fucking pockets while it sits unplugged gathering dust and cobwebs in the corner of my room. This is all from a true lifelong MS fan as well, I even enjoyed the Zune and currently own a WP, if you don't hold a pro MS bias like me don't even contemplate buying the X1. It is hand down no contest the sub par system by a mile.
Everything Google says it complete BS. They are still confident (and probably correct) that the full extent will never come out, that is why they continue to lie. Stop falling for their spin.
I'm the idiot? Where in my comment did I say RPS didn't break the story? Maybe you should go take a grade school reading comprehension course before hurling insults.
The entire points of the article is them saying that no one else was willing to report on it which is completely inaccurate, every site around picked up the story as well and many have continued to report on it over and over again.
As a guy who read about a dozen gaming sites (RPS is not one of them) on a daily basis I have a huge problem with a couple of supposed facts about this story. It seems like RPS is just trying to say "hey look at us we're so awesome and everyone else sucks" just to promote themselves.
"When RPS first broke the story [that servers weren't handling most of the calculations], only a few other gaming sites picked up on it."
Pretty much every gaming site picked it up and reported on it over and over again. They all also had stories specifically linking to the video that proved Sim City could easily be run offline as well. I also don't agree at all that the story has been pushed into the background. At least once a week I see another story about the Sim City debacle especially after the new update which apparently just made things worse.
"If you're so protective of freedom and Miranda, which doesn't even appear in the Constitution, then where can I find your spirited defense of 2nd Amendment rights, post-Sandy Hook?"
There is nothing to defend. No one with any kind of power anywhere in the country ever even once suggested limiting 2nd amendment rights. Regardless of what your leaders and the NRA tell you and you just blindly follow the constitution does guarantee you to own any and all weapons ever made. It was written when the world had nothing but muskets, so until guns have been limited to one shot muskets no one is even coming close to infringing on your rights.
I'm just gonna assume this article meant they had semi automatic rifles. It seems to stress the semi automatic weapons part when every single cop in the country has a semi automatic weapon on him every single second that they're on duty.
15k is right about in the middle of the range of billboard advertising rates for a 4 week ad. Actually seems a little low to me if it's gonna be in a city as big as Austin.
Guy Fawkes was the terrorist of the day but so were the founding fathers over here in America. They are now celebrated as symbols of standing up to repressive regimes much as Guy Fawkes is celebrated today.

Re: jurisdiction
The answer is none. Cable networks can put any kind of language they want on tv, most just choose to follow the same rules.
Re: Re: Re:
Whoops meant to type doesn't guarantee instead of does guarentee. My spelling mistake kinda ruined my whole argument.

Gotta love DRM. Paying customers get hassled, pirates get DRM free copies w/o any hassles and usually before the game is even released.
Nothing new. Counterstrike and Day of Defeat have been doing it for over a decade. If you're banned you can still play but only in non secure servers.

Re:
10% of tens of millions of users is still a very large number.

On a completely unrelated not to the story. Stop coming to our town. Ya'll out of towners have ruined both SXSW and ACL.
Where's the torrent at, lol. Actually looks interesting, might pick it up.
Harold and Kumar has been online for weeks. Make your own queue and go find it.
Re:
Fewer movie tickets sold but more dvd's/bluray/streaming
Less physical recorded music sales but more live music and streaming music and itunes sales
Business models are changing, piracy isn't overly hurting anyone.
Re: Re: Re: Why "counterfeit" it? Surely every man sitting there can afford original one, righ?

Haha, so awesome.
