  • EPA's War On Journalists Is Not A Good Look

    Gary Mont ( profile ), 24 May, 2018 @ 12:18pm

    The T-Rump Era continues unchallenged.

Every day I read TechDirt and other news outlets, and wonder, were the Germans this far into denial of reality when Adolf and his millionaire thugs, pretending to be National Socialists, took over and led that nation to destruction and distraction, while they robbed it blind?

I understand that for most Americans, the president is a near-religious figure, and that the belief in the American Way of Democracy is a near-religion, but how can they simply pretend to not see the tide coming their way, or that their state politico-religion has already been heavily compromised by the Billionaire Cabal in power?

How can such a huge percent of nation's people be so deeply into denial, when the Trump Gang daily shoves reality in their faces?

    Frankly, it staggers the mind.

To save face, another nation has fallen to Fascism, as the people there simply refuse to see the writing on the wall, lest it tarnish their belief system.

Apparently, this is why Fascism always works, no matter how blatantly obvious.

    C'est la vie eh.

  • Bonkers, Unconstitutional Rhode Island Porn Tax Law Faces Backlash From Elizabeth Smart Over Use Of Her Name

    Gary Mont ( profile ), 31 Mar, 2018 @ 08:47am

Welcome to the Time of the Villains

"So, again, why are legislators working with this clown?"

When the bad guys write the laws, its the innocent who suffer the results of Law and Order.

Eventually, even the thickest of folks will start to notice the trend, as more and more criminals join the ranks of the lawmakers and more and more innocents suffer from their machinations.

As the number of criminals at the top increases, the easier it becomes for other criminals to join in on the fun and the more difficult it becomes for anyone of integrity.

Build a society where only the most ruthless, inhumane and self-oriented individuals have any hope of reaching the top, and you will indeed end up right here.

Just before it all falls apart, again.

  • ProPublica's Reporting Error Shows Why The Government Must Declassify Details Of Gina Haspel's Role In CIA Torture

    Re: Assume the worst

Assuming the worst...With the positioning of Haspel as the new CIA director, I assume the Torture Program has already been restarted, if it actually ever stopped.

    And just a note here;

Bad guys do not torture to gain intelligence - torture does not work that way.

They do it entirely for personal satisfaction.

Haspel simply loves to watch them twitch and hear them scream.

As to why she was chosen, even though she has a bad rep.

In much the same manner as a street gang will have a new member do a drive-by murder to give the gang leverage over that new member, Haspel already has a hidden dossier of her crimes, and has already proven she is willing to participate in the most heinous acts imaginable, so she can be trusted to do exactly as she is told.

She is the perfect leader for the T.Rump Torture Program.

This sort of thing never fails to amuse.

These billionaires; who you say will "pay the price", have just turned the internet into a brick and yet you folks still believe they would never, never, tamper with the American Election system.

The T. Rump Gang has to be laughing its collective ass off, reading your naive patriotic drivel.

    "What me worry!"
"Elections will save us all on Voting Day!"

No wonder Fascism is so successful.

The rapid decline of the American Dream - waking up is a bitch.

"...damage to both victims of sex trafficking and free speech..."

Under a fascist government, victims of sex trafficking are an exploitable resource and free speech, well, nothing is free under fascism and speech among the herd, being dangerous to those who profit from secrecy and deception, always needs to be stifled as much as possible.

This was a fully successful move by the conquerors of America, and should solidify their stranglehold quite a bit in the near future as well as weaken the US system of legal public protection to allow escalating exploitation in numerous other fields going forward.

With the onset of Eternal War, the Sex Industry will flourish, funneling many more millions of dollars into the offshore accounts of almost everyone currently in T. Rump's administration, and with the end of the open internet as we know it, these same billionaires have insured that public dissent can be quashed quickly and any who expose the truth can be legally and preemptively punished, or quietly "disappeared".

All in all, the Fascist Team is batting a perfect average and the American Public is still totally preoccupied fighting among themselves over who got the best toys first.

Apparently Fascism never fails, because nobody believes it is really happening till its far too late.

    Clock is ticking kids.

    Protect and Serve Who?

"...encroach on the rights of the citizens they're supposed to be protecting.

I have to wonder, exactly what makes Americans think that American law enforcement officers - anywhere in America - are still supposed to be protecting American Citizens?

Remember, your Constitution was rewritten secretly after 9/11. What other long standing directives were secretly rewritten after 9/11?

The term "Protect and Serve" does not actually explain what or who they are protecting or serving, after all.

It could simply mean - "Protect and serve the 1%".

Is there some sort of law or statute that clarifies the actual recipient of an American LEO's protection and service, to be the American Public?

Current events would appear to show quite the opposite, especially since The Bigot in Chief bought the office of POTUS and turned it into Whiteland Inc., to insure his family's prosperity and protection at American Tax-payer's expense, forever.

Perhaps an open revue of "precisely" what a Law Enforcement Officer's actual duties include - precisely who and what they protect and serve - might be in order at this time.

If such a review is still allowed by law that is...

In my world, any secret agreement between people in power, to profit at the expense of the public, is a conspiracy.

This of course, includes every secret high level business venture ever devised by corporations, governments and Billionaire Cartels.

The way I see it, conspiracy is as much a part of everyday life, as conversation.

And as long as we believe government is a necessary evil, we will get the government we deserve. After all, the origin of government is the evolution of criminal gangs.

Re: Re: "Fascism is like cancer"

I have heard this refrain from apparently intelligent people for forty years.

"Conspiracies are impossible because someone involved would spill the beans."

Odd then that the known conspiracies have been exposed, not by an insider spilling the beans, but by investigators who simply followed the money trail.

Please note also that "spilling the beans" places the bean-spiller between a rock and a hard spot.

On the one hand the law may now incarcerate the person who has confessed to being a part of a criminal plot, and on the other hand, every other person involved with the crime now wants this idiot dead.

Not a lot of people who made a lot of money/power as part of a criminal conspiracy, are going to commit suicide this way, no matter how many people repeat the popular meme.

Oh well, I suppose you really do get the government you deserve.

    Re: Claim

    Which Constitution?

There's the one they teach in school, sometimes - old thing, written long ago. Its not used much except when its impossible not to, or when the public is paying attention.

Then there's the one that was rewritten by corporate lawyers after the 9/11 false flag operation, to allow, among other things, the invocation of the war measures act against American civilians - "the adversary" - in secret.

War on Drugs, War on Terror, War on File-Sharing, all a part of the War on the Adversary - civilians.

There is no way that anyone could have stopped this FISA fiasco, because it was never really up for a vote. That's just smoke and mirrors now, as with elections.

The Spy on The Adversary program is a major part of the corporate secret war effort, and absolutely necessary for blackmail of the opposition - read Democrats - and to prevent public revolt by eavesdropping on all their communications, which allows them to root out any fledgling conspirators before they can get organized.

You all just witnessed a bunch of Democrats suddenly turn 180 degrees from their public stance. This is the power of blackmail.

It is truly fascinating to watch millions of adults pretend there is nothing bad going on, just to protect their income.

Astounding really. But this one is definitely gonna bite you in the ass if you don't wake up and smell the coffee.

Hell, its probably already too late.

Warning to Morons : Too Long - Do Not Read

    Warning - Rant ahead
    ====================

Fascism is like cancer. It occurs when parts of the body gain too much control and alters things to allow those parts to thrive and grow at the expense of the rest of the body, draining the body of vital resources in the process and eventually killing the host and itself.

The difference is that the members of a society that cause the death of their home nation through the fascist business model, are able to pack up their winnings and move to a new nation.

In a fascist state, the processes of government are purely for show. The "people", while actually having no representation from government, must be maintained in a state somewhere between terror of enemies from without, and active ecstasy from bread and circuses within, in order to keep them pacified and occupied.

This is simply due to the fact that in a fascist state, there is no actual government. It has been replaced by a cartel of billionaire businessmen and all of the old government processes have been replaced with Hollywood type facades that merely look like the old government processes.

The only aspects of government that remain intact, are those that protect the invading parasites from their host, such as the military and the prison system.

The surveillance state has one primary purpose under a fascist state. Gather information to facilitate easy blackmail and control of any who would expose the cartel's purpose or activities.

It also allows the members of the cartel to easily exploit any source of local wealth through intimidation and outright legalized theft.

The entire democratic party has been so compromised, and has been since the 9/11 false flag operation that allowed the rewriting of the US constitution and the secret legalization of the fascist cartel operations through war-time security measures laws.

The USA has been invaded, engaged and conquered, and is currently occupied at the highest levels of legalized privilege by the invaders - Billionaire Americans.

This particular situation under discussion- the legalized Spying on American citizens by the state surveillance apparatus - was a pure BS hollywood display, as the fascist surveillance state cartel has no intention of ever allowing the American People any legal rights that could theoretically harm the state in any way, including the privacy needed to conspire against the state.

Taking away the rights of Americans must be done slowly and as much as possible; secretly, in order to prevent the general public from catching on and revolting. Such hollywood displays will become common place as the state erodes the legal protections one after the other.

In much the same way that a tape worm settles into a warm protected spot in the human intestines to feed at leisure, the fascist cartel has settled into the halls of government, protected by the law itself, to slowly and inexorably devour the wealth of America.

I suppose you should all be thankful that the cartel is still keeping you partially informed as to the laws it is eliminating and replacing in order to better feed off your carcasses. Soon, this will no longer be necessary -
once they can initiate a new war somewhere - and then those of you who still "believe" that it can't happen here will begin to feel the drain and the pain and may even decide to react.

Of course, that reaction will in most cases; especially among the middle and upper classes, be the decision to join the Fascists, and grab as much as they can before the final collapse, in a massive feeding frenzy, which in turn speeds up the whole process.

Of course, by then it will be far too late anyway, and America will soon thereafter become but a memory of its own past glory, like Rome and so many other places before it, that succumbed to fascism through simple disbelief and inaction.

I must say, its been a real education watching Americans pretend that everything is fine and dandy, apparently right up until their last breath. I never would have believed it possible had I not witnessed it with my own eyes.

No wonder Fascism is so popular with the wealthy.

    It always works.

    C'est la vie eh! :)

    Ignorance is bliss.

"Professor Twenge's research shows that U.S. teenagers who spend 3 hours a day or more on electronic devices are 35% more likely, and those who spend 5 hours or more are 71% more likely, to have a risk factor for suicide than those who spend less than 1 hour."

    The Expert solution offered:

Re-Hide reality from children, so they know little about the real world and how ugly it is.

This will prevent depression and thereby prevent suicide, through pure ignorance of what is actually taking place in the real world.

Maintain this institutionalized ignorance until they are at least 18, and have learned to filter reality through selective belief systems and are able to maintain their own ignorance of reality like adults.

    Yep. That'll work well.

It hasn't been "amended" to meet T. Rump's corporate law standards yet.

There aren't any corporate handouts, tax write-offs, or legal loopholes included in the bill yet. And its wording is far, far, too precise.

I'm sure congress will have it "repaired" in no time though, as it is after all, about restoring the very foundation of America's lost Democracy.

Gotta nip that in the bud now don't they. :)

Trump declares war on reality, justice and the America Dream.

"But if journalists, activists and citizens can obtain data tying the fraudulent comments to an ISP-funded organization, NEXT YEAR'S court battle over the repeal could get very interesting, very quickly."

Hmmmmm.... now what would a normal fascist, (corporate capitalist) cabal, masquerading as a government, do when caught red handed with its hand in the cookie jar and no way to fudge the evidence or witnesses?

Oh yeah! The traditional gambit is to start a war big enough to make everyone "look over there", while the cabal "cleans" the playing field of witnesses and evidence, using the war-time legal system to commit these crimes at home with legal immunity from prosecution.

Then they simply close all those embarrassing cases out of court by claiming they would jeopardize the "war effort".

All of the Trumpettes woes - from Trump's Russian Connection, to his and his friend's exposed sexual hobbies, will be quickly put to rest, along with those who wanted to see justice done.

    Standard operating procedure really.

Considering how many of the criminals in office support the Military Industrial Money Machine, it will likely be the only "diversion" they even consider because its the one that will make most of them many, many more millions of dollars.

Looks like you're going back to war America. And soon.

The End of Democracy in America

"It's also a terrible business practice when you're in the business of serving the public."

Well then, there's the source of your confusion on this matter.

The Police have not been in the business of serving the public for many years now and the laws they now enforce were designed specifically by the 1% to legalize the wholesale robbery of the public's private assets.

Were you to admit that the Police now primarily serve the 1% as their enforcement "goons" and like mercenaries everywhere, secondarily serve themselves whenever opportunity arises, none of their actions would appear to be unusual in the slightest.

In a Fascist Police state, this is absolutely normal behavior for public-exploitive Law Enforcement.

However, since Americans refuse to see what is right in front of their faces, you might as well get used to this behavior, because it is definitely not going to fix itself and will in fact simply get worse as more new laws are put in place to create even more legalized criminal opportunities for the police and their new masters.

    FOSTA comes to mind immediately.

After all, since the 1% possess 90% of the nation's wealth, they feel that it is they who need 90% of the protection afforded by laws and police.

    That's only fair right.

    Or is that Far Right:)
