  • Kash Patel Filed a Defamation Case Monday. His Other Defamation Case Got Dismissed Tuesday.

'They should have known it was false because I told them it was' only really carries any weight when you have avery solid reputation for honesty and even without knowing anything about Patel personally given who gave him the job that's not a reputation I'd be willing to grant him.

  • Fifth Circuit Continues Running The Table, Says Ten Commandments Law In Texas Is Constitutional

    That One Guy ( profile ), 24 Apr, 2026 @ 04:54pm

From the cult that brought you 'Trump as Jesus' comes 'The ten commandments EVERYWHERE!'

I see the fifth circuit is continuing it's ongoing battle with the SCOTUS for the 'Most Openly Corrupt Court In The US' award... The ultimate kicker and what really gives away that the christian dominionists trying to cram the ten commandments everywhere don't actually care about their religious significance is how much open contempt they have for the very 'moral guidelines' they insist on shoving down everyone's throats, and how the leader of their cult seems to have made it his personal mission to violate every gorram one of them.

Can't upset the (real) snowflake brigade after all...

Well naturally, those book might have subversive messages that are threats to the children like 'white people aren't the pinnacle of humanity and/or have done bad things' or 'people that aren't CIS and hetero are still people that deserve equal rights and treatment under the law and society'.

Even the ones that aren't outright gushing with praise for him have effectively been on his side though as sanewashing him and pretending that he is a very serious person with legitimate positions that can be articulated and nailed down is doing him a massive favor.

Ah yes, if you don't have statues honoring slave holding and/or defending traitors you'd have no way of remembering that the southern states at the time kept slaves and fought a war to preserve the vile practice, that's why there are Hitler statues everywhere in europe, so no-one forgets that he existed... Tell you what, how about a deal: they get to keep the statues in public places if and only if all their plaques are replaced with '[Name][How long they lived] Traitor to the US and slave holder and/or defender of slavery'. It's short and to the point, reminding people that they existed and what they did to earn the statue, allowing the south to 'preserve' that 'history' and 'culture' that they cherish so deeply.

  • US Going Deeper Into The Red Now That The IRS Is Sharing Tax Data With ICE

Turns out the 'lazy' people 'stealing all the jobs' were massive taxpayers, who knew?

Possibly the worst part(financially at least) is that even if the entire regime disappeared tomorrow thanks to some lucky bastard finding a willing genie those billions of dollars in yearly tax revenue are gone, and will be for a very, very long time. The deal used to be 'you pay your taxes through this method, we don't look too closely about exactly what your legal status in the country is' but now that the regime had broken that trust there's no reason for undocumented people to pay any government taxes because it will just be used against them and if they're going to be thrown out the country either way why pick the method that results in them having less money to spend?

    All the wrong incentives

Those pushing these anti-privacy/make-children-less-safe laws not only don't have a vested interest in writing a good law they have good reason to deliberately write bad laws, because as the article so aptly points out the goal from the outset is for them to crow about how they're Doing Something For The Children, and if they ever fixed the problem(hint: the primary source isn't the kids or platforms but the parents) then they'd have to move on to some other fictional or if they got really desperate real problem to fundraise on. Or to put it in tl;dr format: They have every reason to write a law that they know will get shot down in court, they have no reason to write a law that will actually withstand legal review because that's not the goal, publicity is.

'Oh yeah, a whole lot of this IS our fault...'

They can wear whatever minuscule and trivial-to-miss pins or pocket squares 'supporting the first amendment' that they want, if they go they're showing that they're bending the knee to the regime and everyone there knows it. If they want to protest the regime then the correct response to the event is to not go and instead spend the day writing and posting articles about what an utter disaster the regime has been and continues to be for free speech in the US, and if they're feeling super-duper brave they can maybe slip in an article or two admitting that maybe the press in the US has some responsibility for how things got this bad thanks to their constant sanewashing of Trump and acting like he and the GOP have been acting in good faith this whole time.

'But surely MY face will never be on the menu, I'm SPECIAL!'

One of the many problems with fascism as a business strategy is that it only works if the fascists stay in power indefinitely. It’s a woefully unpopular ideological position, especially in the US — betting on a temporarily ascendant horse that has no chance in a longer race. Oh it's even worse than that because fascism(or any similar ideology really) is inherently cannibalistic in that they always eventually turn on their own because a core pillar of the ideology is that there must always be an 'enemy' to blame for anything bad that happens and when the current one isn't doing the trick a new one must be found. Pandering to the Trump regime might work out well for them today but they merely have to look at how many ardent Trump supporters have gone from inner-circle members to thrown under the bus and branded as traitors to the cause who were never really true believers the second they didn't toe the line 'enough' or became a convenient scapegoat to understand that 'long term stability' is simply not an option for anyone who tries to suck up to Trump. They've willingly locked themselves in a room with a rabid leopard who's face is already dripping with blood and it's not a question of if their face will be on the menu but how many others in there with them will find the answer to that question before they do.

Minor but important correction: This is the stance of the Trump regime and Republicans in general until and unless they say and prove by their actions otherwise. They can say whatever they want as this article and others like it demonstrate, what matters and shows their true position and beliefs is what they do.

'We investigated ourselves and found no conflict of interest.'

Ah the US police departments would be so proud... If ever there was a time for a judge to issue a 'Are you fucking kidding me both of you are taking orders from the same man making the conflict of interest impossible to resolve, case dismissed and get the hell out of here and stop wasting the court's time' verdict this would certainly be at the top of the list.

'I disabled all the bank's cameras and fired the security to make it MORE secure you see.'

No-one spends that much time and effort removing guardrails and oversight while stuffing the government full of election deniers because they plan to play fair, so the question is not 'Will the regime attempt to manipulate or outright declare the mid-terms invalid if it looks like it will result in a blue wave?' but 'How exactly will they do so and will there be enough public, political and legal pressure applied to counter their attempt to do so?'
