    If you have to 'remind' people that they're on you're admitting that it's easy to forget/'forget'

    They can call them whatever they want in official documentation but they should be called what they are and will be used as: The electric torture gloves. 'I forgot that the gloves were active when I grabbed the suspect.' 'The suspect was being aggressive and I used the gloves to apply corrective measures until compliance was achieved.' 'I feared for my life and therefore used the gloves in order to protect myself.' And the one I have no doubt they'll be telling each other and laughing about in the locker room... 'I wanted to hear them scream so I starting shocking them and kept doing it until it stopped being funny.'

    About that 'legacy'...

    The order is in line with reports that Trump personally promotes the debunked claim that vaccines cause autism and that he wants part of his legacy tied to curing autism. I got some bad news for Trump about his 'legacy' and how history and countless people across the world for decades if not centuries to come will be remembering him in history books and cultural memory... Even 'curing' autism at this point would not be enough to salvage his reputation and legacy from the radioactive cesspit it's currently wallowing in and prevent him from being remembered as the most hated, corrupt and incompetent person to ever sit in the White House.

    If you want to see a collection of press releases and puff pieces from the rich and/or famous then the mainstream 'news' in the US has got you covered. If you want to actually be informed about what's going on then look elsewhere to the independent groups or even individuals who still believe in journalism and that it doesn't just mean 'print whatever someone tells you without criticism or checking for accuracy.'

    Anyone who looks will note that the Trump administration regularly engages in clearly unconstitutional attempts to suppress speech. But because he and his supporters like to claim he’s a free speech supporter, they believe it. It makes perfect sense once you realize that to them the only speech that's deserving of protecting or being allowed is theirs. To them 'free speech' means nothing more or less than 'I should be allowed to say anything I want, wherever I want, without consequence and so should anyone that agrees with me, but no-one else.'

    When it comes to free speech republicans-now-MAGAts have shown without question or doubt that they firmly believe that only them and theirs have a right to speak their minds, that they should be able to say whatever they want wherever they want without consequence, and that any speech that doesn't fall into that narrow category is not and should not be allowed. The whole 'censorship industrial complex' was merely a result of point #2, them facing any pushback whatsoever for anything they said, and what they're doing now is demonstrating point #3.

And therein lies the crux of the issue: Trump's ego cannot allow him to admit that he was wrong on something, therefore since he's issued multiple public statements about the 'vandalism' all the evidence in the world will not change the dementia-riddle mess that is his mind because that would require an admission that he's been wrong this whole time.

    Unfortunately for the company and it's investors it's not possible to fix the platform and even get it back to where it was before because the #1 source of problems for it is it's new owner. So long as Elon has any control of the company it's going to continue to do badly, both because he doesn't have a gorram clue what he's doing and because his desired audience isn't one that a majority of people want to hang around with.

Proceed accordingly or better yet file for a venue change with all haste.'

    This all seems pretty obviously designed to get Cornyn and Tillis off his back by saying “see?!? I’ve now put it in writing. Now shut up and vote to make me Attorney General.” And, who knows, it might work. Imagine being so insanely gullible and stupid as to believe Donald Trump and his personal lawyer when they tell you that they'll totally stop trying to give themselves nearly two billion dollars of money they can use however they want, just because they sent out a press release that one party has already made clear he has no interest in following.

    The government's own witness said the damage was there before the accused got anywhere near it and yet they still indicted him. Yeah, that doesn't scream 'the grand jury proceedings were corrupt as hell' at all, no wonder they dropped the charges rather than risk having those records go public.

    The mere existence of 'you have no constititional rights' zones is a legal abomination

    I would like to think that the judge involved will see through the government's farce of a case and realize that they and the legal system they represent are being weaponized against the citizenry here but far too many(read: more than zero) judges buy the 'it's not a fifth amendment violation to force people to unlock their devices despite the entire point of forcing someone to do that is to provide evidence to incriminate them' argument so who knows?

    Not a question of 'will' the data/people be exploited but 'how soon/much?'

    Personally I don't see where the concerns are coming from, I mean if the US is known for anything surely the first thing that that comes to mind is saving lives over corporate profits, with robust privacy protections and ironclad security measures no matter how that impacts the bottom line coming in at a close second. The regime is yet again sabotaging the country by ensuring that any 'aid' to foreign countries will have so many toxic strings attached that rather than the recipients feeling grateful for the assistance they'll rightly feel used and exploited, leaving them with a worse opinion of the US and providing any other governments willing to step up and provide aid a perfect opportunity to do so, weakening US foreign power and influence twice over.
