With the way PIPCU and CoL Police keep going it appears they only just discovered the internet as they have complete technical ignorance of its underlying workings as shown by their idiotic decision making.
The real problem is that they appear to only take technical "advice" from the content industry and will not/cannot research anything for themselves. They are clearly either being bribed or being taken for a ride by big content.
Why don't they take responsibility? The sheer amount of Oscar screener review copies leaked by insiders is astounding.
@AC VAC is not enabled unless you play on a VAC enabled server. The server admin has a choice if he/she wishes to enable VAC. Single player sessions do not use it at all.
Chances are if you're cheating on a VAC enabled server, you're up to no good and have an unfair advantage.
If you are banned, you can still play on the (small number) of non-VAC enabled servers where everyone else is also hacking/cheating.
Also, false positives are rare, given the all too unique signature of cheats. Yes, many people have been banned and were innocent, but they were immediately unbanned when Valve figured out it was a false positive. Rarely are false positives 1 in a million either.
The OBDLink's are popular not only because they're faster, but they have a solid and reliable CANBus implementation, which cannot be said for any of the cheap Chinese adaptors.
These devices don't only speak OBDII. They also support the other (often proprietary) variations of CANbus as well, and the OBDLink has a fantastic reputation there.
The WiFi version means it works 100% on iOS devices, as Apple still completely cripples bluetooth API functionality whereas WiFi works around this completely. I personally have the bluetooth OBDLink MX and its amazing on Android.
Voltage very likely leaked the screener themselves, or paid someone to do it.
And here they let that popular preteen arousing moron pop star singer back into the U.S. even though he has a laundry list of charges pending?
If you want people to respect the law, starting with equality by removing the FPA (famous persons act) would help.
Crack your ex girlfriends gmail account and post her nudes online, get 6 months probation, if that.
Do it to a celebrity or politician, get 10+ years in prison from a laundry list of CFAA charges.
Do nothing, get put on no fly list, barred from U.S for 10 years.
Have a DUI from 30 years ago, denied entry into the U.S.
Have felony charges pending for vandalism, DUI and speed racing charges, well hello there, how are you? Move along, have a nice day.
Fuck law, its broken.
If Google wants to get into the home, why did they sell off the set-top box division?
Having a hard time believing Motorola's core handset business is worth as much as an upstart thermostat company...
Too much cash and no sense.
This stuff has Kim Dotcom! saga all over it, just not long over a year ago everyone thought he was a tinfoil hat elitist.
In this article the studios claim that illegal downloading devalues the content and that the broadcasters want to pay less for it, however the studios say the exact same thing about Netflix and continually refuse to renew contracts or double their licensing fees effectively holding Netflix at ransom.
Netflix streaming wouldn't exist if it weren't for piracy, but both are treated very similar. Netflix would be shut down if they could argue a case for it, but thankfully piracy isn't going away.
Anyone ever watch True Lies?
The only last thing they can Xbox 180 on is the price, a kinect-less version for $399, pricing parity with the PS4.
Is he going to claim that they enable infringement next on behalf of big content?
CliffyB got rich quick off the Gears exclusivity publishing deal with Microsoft and is incredibly blind to what that deal really cost him. He would have sold far more copies of Gears if it were multi platform, maybe he should look at Microsoft first before blaming everyone for buying used games.
Simply put, it cost him magnitudes higher in lost profits than what used games did. You can't listen to what this guy says anymore, he does NOT represent gamers anymore.
Oh, how I wish he would come back to his senses like the Unreal Tournament days....
For Canada it didn't matter as we sold out to US special interests anyway.
When the Harper government gained majority powers they just used the "301" report as yet another excuse to pass C-11. According to leaked cables, allegedly our government asked the USTR to be included on the priority watch list, which indeed happened.
Talk about a complete sellout.
Even though the Cloud as we know it sucks, the MPA still has a problem with it, like any new or emerging technology, all because everything these days can be used to infringe...
And I'm still disgusted to shame that Canada still had to carve this very same piece of garbage into law despite all the public outcry.
Didn't the NFL try to trademark "The Big Game" as well when that alternative became popular with advertisers? That makes it even more laughable!
Theres also the other obvious elephant in the room... Cable providers want to sell TV services and milk those all they can, and as of late, many people are cutting the cord for over the internet TV services... see the problem? Caps hamper peoples ability to do this.
Valve can't bring out their PC based Steam console soon enough, I am tired of the traditional game console penny pinching business model, hence why I stuck to Steam on the PC. Sure its not perfect, but its a hell of a lot less restrictive and you can buy entire series of games for one low price. Nevermind the huge sales they regularly have.
The only way *anything* should be removed from Github is if its copyrighted source code that was leaked/stolen from some private repository that was never intended to be in the public eye. The MPAA is simply abusing the DMCA if they think they can simply remove P2P client code on their flawed basis of infringing THEIR copyrights.
