  I think that these lawsuits are going to do more for internet freedom than anything else. They are going to prove to more and more people/companies that you can't just shut us up.
  
  You are going to have to have a dialog with us. You can't just try and shut the collective "US" up. You need to address the issues expressed even if they are or are not valid.

  I agree the original was Facemash (Late 2003), but I was invited by an early adopter and did nothing but sign in. So technically my "Facebook" account is not valid until later. I only had access because of the person that was able to get access.

  Yes, but they have done much by increasing the truth and dialog.

  I agree that the Pirate Party is not likely to become a major political party, it can become a major political force of chance. It can drive issues in to the fore-front of political dialog. It can bring awareness to the general public of laws that affect them.

  My thought has always been that no access to our information should ever be given without a informed legal decision being made by a Judge/Senator/President/Representative that understands the implications of the access being given.
  
  Too many Judges/Senators/Presidents/Representatives think they are smart enough to decide. When they are creating legal requirements they are uninformed about.
  
  Too often the experts they listen too are those industries that will benefit most by the law, not the real victims.

  The title says it all. If any entity is allowed by law to collect the data then they WILL use it in ways that have not been governed by law. They will find ways to skirt any and all restrictions.
