  • But What Do We Do If Google Is Legitimately Just A Better Search Engine?

    Matt Bennett ( profile ), 15 Nov, 2023 @ 12:39pm

Actually, no, I've argued that they should not be able to do so at government request. Several courts have agreed that this happened and is in violation of the 1A.

That did not answer my question. Find me a SINGLE 1st Amendment lawyer who says that defamation is not a 1st Amendment issue.
You are not a 1st amendment lawyer. Nah, I find the answer "SCOTUS before Sullivan" (fine, they're Irishing wrong) perfectly satisfactory. Lawyers are bound by precedent. Nonetheless, the association did not exist before that point. Your argument is circular and stupid. The number of lawyers prior to Sullivan who thought defamation had nothing to do wit the 1A is effectively the sum of all lawyers existing prior to Sullivan. Get fucked. I love the idea of your whole legal world coming down.

If true (doubtful) that would be aggressively sad, not least of all because he's not even a lawyer, but also would explain so much. I also cannot express to you how low in esteem I find "congressional staffer" (presumably democratic). You probably thought you were bragging and that's funny.

You are demeaning that poem by equating bad economic theory with ethnic cleansing. And someone IS coming for the Jews, I and others are very vocally speaking out....and you assholes are making excuses for the terrorists. Absolutely fucking amazing.

yeah, no, censorship does not mean "you can't post it anywhere". That's a dumbshit redefinition. If you ban it from Twitter, but it still available on 4chan or whatever, it's still fucking censorship. The word does not VAGUELY mean what you are suggesting it does, and I'm just going to ask that you shut the fuck up forever now, k, thx.

    Okay, where are the communists?
Huh? Are you confused about something?
Do you really want to die on this hill? Defending the Nazis?
You...you think calling nazis socialists is defending them? Wow, shitlib moment.
You’re just making the rest of us consider learning some form of lethal self-defence,
Because conservatives are consistent, we believe in the 2A for our enemies too. Ulike shitlibs who only believe in the 1A for those who agree with them.
if 9nly to protect ouraelves from insurrectionists and murderers like you.
Again, you have all the Hamas supporters on your side. People who cheered murdered babies. And you have no idea what the fuck an insurrection is, obviously.

Anyone who wants to claim that Nazis were socialists in practice instead of in name only must contend with the Nazis being genocidal fascists.
No? There's nothing contradictory about that. "fascist" here is circular (it basically just means liek Naazis or Mussolini) but there's nothing at odds about them being both socialist and "genocidal fascists." There were "socialist" both because it was in the name but also because they believed in government controlling the means of production -- the definition of socialist.
Those countries aren’t socialist or communist—they’re autocracies or dictatorships
Now I'm thinking you just don't know what those fucking words mean, but there is NOTHING contradictory about being a communist country and a dictatorship, in fact they all are. China absolutely was very communist and also absolutely a dictatorship. Its arguably less communist now (but still centrally planned, which is the main problem with communism) and still dictatorship. Capitalist dictatorships certainly can exist, but so far at least EVERY communist country has been a dictatorship. Nazis were socialist and a dictatorship. This isn't hard.

I see Masnick is still delaying my replies to him, so I'll post a shorter verion here. N@azis weren't "right wing" to the degree that has ANY relevance (not much) but that also was not the point at all. The point is that Hamas just did a mini-Holocaust and it is only people on the Left that defend them (indeed many in lefty enclaves celebrated, the day of). Hamas is way more "n@azi" than anything you libtards dream up and it's ALL on the Left. You don't get to just call anyone to the right of Clinton a "n@azi" (while pretending they were right-wing) while then defending cooking babies alive and mass rape and torture. Wtf, lefties (most assuredly including Masnick) are disgusting.

    He literally has.
Lying twice won't make it more true.
a year later he admits he could only sell it for $19 billion
Not what means and you know which is why it's a lie and not just your usual ignorance.
You ignored me pointing this out yesterday, but we have fought valiantly against any sort of “ministry of truth” and have argued against any sort of gov’t censorship going back from before you were the fucking troll you are today.
maybe back in 2005, but not the last few years, which is why I hate your lying face. Heck, maybe you're against it in the EU. But here? Here you're all about it.

those are literally recognized exceptions to the 1st Amendment
Dude, you literally lie about the 1A all the time, and know nothing about the law. They're not "exceptions", they're completely removed from it.
    Perhaps the Congressional Research Service....
Oh, good, propaganda written by gov bureaucrats (i.e. liberals), not a court case or anything. The major thing tying defamation to the 1A is O'Sullivan which is very likely to be overturned soon. Y'know, like a lot of nonsense from the Warren court.
Get fucked, all your ideas are bad.

Masnick likes to claim that, but like a lot of things he claims, there's zero evidence that's what happened.

You are so fucking stupid it’s not even funny
    Aww, buddy, samesies!
This is disconnected from reality. Nazis were far right fascists, and the neonazis today are the same.
Well, no, they were socialists, both in name (literally) but also that they believed in government taking over the means of production. But I think the much more salient bit is that all the people who want to kill jews, think beheading little kids and shoving them in ovens is OK? 99.9% of those people are on the left. In many cases, colleges and journalists defended them, to. Hell, NYT just rehired a guy who's been praising Hitler on Twitter. (and was never banned for it, btw) You god damned moron. Hamas is religious, are they left wing, right wing? Who cares? The important bit is that it's everyone on the Left here that's defending them, and they really want to kill the Jews., you stupid piece of shit.
Dorsey wanted to do away with trust & safety altogether,
Cool, so you're just going to repeat what I said. What is infuriating about you is that you are just incapable of understanding how insane your sound, since you've built a little echo chamber here for yourself. "Nazis were Right wing" OH? Not sure that even means anything, in economic theory objectively untrue, but way less important than the fact Hamas did just did a mini-holocaust, innit? Stupid fuck.

No no, they ask government to do that for them. Government involvement is the entire problem to start with.

    You're a raging antisemite.

Khashoggi was, btw, one of bin Laden's good friends, and shared many of his goals. He shouldn't have been a US resident nor a WaPo writer, and the fact that he was is one of the many many stains on that papers reputation.

Unfortunately, as horrific as this crime was, there’s no reason to believe NSO Group was complicit, at least not in the legal sense.
So you want them to complicit? Jesus you're messed up.

  • The FCC’s Plan To Address Racism In Broadband Deployment Sounds Like A Sad Joke

    Matt Bennett ( profile ), 31 Oct, 2023 @ 07:58pm

Maybe it's not the FCC's job to "address" racism?

First of all this supposed "racism" probably isn't that at all -- disparate impact is NOT evidence of racism, and it's no surprise that companies want to update neighborhoods that are more likely to purchase their services. That's like pretending that Tiffany's only opening stores in upscale neighborhoods is "racist". But seriously, this just isn't FCC's concern. Federal agencies are not a vehicle to push your progressive passion projects.
