  Waste of time

  Universities tend to be SUCH a waste of time. Technical colleges save alot of time, alot of money and actually TEACHES useful skills.

  Presently, YES movie theaters now provide captioning. There are several theatres where I live that provide it, but they give us a device that's basically like a teleprompter. That way you hearing folks don't get bugged by the captions and WE can still enjoy the movie along with you.

  I agree with you 100%. I am actually deaf myself, but don't agree with suing netflix for this. That being said, DMCA and copyright are NOT a deaf person's friend. If we can't get a movie with subtitles, we either have to;
  
  Pirate a movie from another source and add subtitles or
  Break the digital locks to turn the movie into an AVI file and then add subtitles
  
  And of course, we don't have too much trouble finding subtitles... yet. I dread the day when THOSE get driven underground. All because some asshats who don't want to give us decent subtitling want to take away the ability to do so for ourselves as well.

  This may have already been said...

  I'm a deaf person and I LOVE the subtitle sites. Sometimes movies themselves do a crappy ass job of subtitling their shows and the free subtitles from other sites are BETTER.
  
  Hell, Closed Captioning on TV is often pure GARBAGE as some of them aren't even timed properly to the show. Fat chance I can adjust the timings like I can with subtitle files.
  
  Indeed, another opportunity to meet the needs of a viable market.

  This is the first TD article I've disagreed with. If you think what Sonja said was trolling, you've got VERY thin skin. She actually asked some very intelligent questions, if in a bit of an off color way. Let's be honest - unless he's wearing traditional Jewish religious clothing - you couldn't tell most jews from anyone else. They're black, white, asian, african, etc. etc. etc. This is NOT Trolling. Good god people are we a little TOO sensitive about race and political correctness?

  Wake up

  I haven't watched a commercial in years. When are they going to wake up and realize that almost everyone is already skipping their commercials? If they want to advertise, it's all product placement ads now, and small banner ads at the bottom during the show. Nobody enjoys having their show cut into to have some twit shaking a product we don't really need or want in our face.
