"The latest is that Canadian patent hoarder Mosaid Technologies has claimed that its patents are violated, and has sued bunch of companies, including Dell, RIM and AsusTek."

    READ, maybe, AC #6?

He didn't say "IP company", he said it's NAME.

    Sheesh, bill long is ....

DEFINITELY in the pay of the RIAA.

Because I can say, I'VE never heard of his "music".

If it's anything like his rants here...that would explain why.

And I'd love to know what a DMAC is, lol

    The MPAA isn't necessary.

    It's just another union, lol.

And, I know it been said here before...but I see NO reason I should HAVE to buy another copy of the music I ALREADY bought, just because I want to have it in the formats that are now being used.

It should NOT be illegal for me to convert my LP's to cd, or mp3 files to use in my mp3 player

But people like him want to make it to where I go to JAIL for doing that?

He can bite my round, red. rosy one. :D

    good god.....

    WHERE do these people live?!

I Don't wanna move there, lol. $10 for a movie? If the ticket price is over $7, I don't go to see it

Because, for SAME price it totals out to for one person, I wait 3 months, and EVERYONE I know can see it, and we OWN it afterwards.

Unlike some of the people here, I don't have a job that lets me go "Oh, it's only $25 bucks per head to see this great movie!"

Being a troll for the MPAA must pay great :).

    Where do I sign up?

  • Feb 26th, 2011 @ 4:26pm

    Hmmm, apparently

all the AC commenters on TD are IP Lawyers.

Ones worried that one day, they will have to look for work, lol.

    My heart bleeds for them!

    Good God....

There should be a way to mark COMMENTERS as objectionable.

then, after a sertain number of those, they get the ability to comment disabled.

I mean, you don't like the comments/articles here people, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The trolls make it almost impossible to read any of the articles here, without severe headaches :(

  • Feb 9th, 2011 @ 11:57am

    Yo, AC...learn to READ

I didn't say would be no illegal prostitution.... I said would be a large addition to the economy/taxbase.

And, if you are stupid enough to utilize an illegal prostitute, you get what you paid for :)

We DO still have laws against illegal prostitution, lol. And if we didn't, guaranteed, they would be in place at the same time that they legalized it.

  • Feb 9th, 2011 @ 11:45am

God, as he said, legalize it so it can be taxed.

THEN you will see some interesting things, lol.

Like SCHOOLS for prostitutes, Sliding scale costs, Requirements for health checks every 6 months, Licenses.....

The list goes on.... and nowhere in it do i see any reason NOT to legalize it, lol.

Heck even the insurance companies would be involved, selling policies to hookers, lol

As far as I can see, would be a nice addition to the economy :)

But, as some church-based geek would say, what do i know?

my thought is, if they offend your church.....DON'T PATRONIZE THEM!

    Re: Falsehoods

Jeezus, no one can read anymore.

And Just for your consideration...WHY are you renting a PS3?

Since, according to their logic, you don't own it.

You are just responsible for the repair costs it might need.

But if you want to play PS3 games, you must rent it from them, on a longterm basis.

Bloody Trolls are getting SO annoying

I just wonder how much they are getting PAID to do all these posts for the RIAA and MPAA?

    Because, if they aren't, well....

'nuff said about their brainpower in the comments :).

And, for all the idjeets out there....the USA is NOT an empire, nor do we govern foreign countrys.

They are perfectly entitled to have whatever laws they care to about IP.

For the USA to unilaterally decide to "punish" companies in foreign countries, without at a mininmum a court order, is ridiculous.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am not looking forward to the backlash this sort of attitude will cause towards the USA.

    Lol, I have an idea.....

2012 is an election year, is it not?

Since Obama has definitely not done well...let us all spreadthe word, and do a write in campaign.

    "Mike Masnick --- President"

I am sorry, but there is NO way that Mike could be a Worse President than some we've had, and he seems to be interested in the issues that I AM worried about.

God only knows what would happen to him under the pressure cooker of Presidential office.

But we can always hope :D

    Re: Re:

Nice to see that Hephaestus is optimistic, lol. And there WERE a lot of really good articles/posts this year.

I think that Mike does a darn good job with what he posts, and the dicussions in the comments are sometimes even better than the article!

Except for when the trolls start flaming, sigh. Ah well, no such thing as perfection.....

Happy New Year, Mike and TD!

    God almighty, give me patience....

The trolls are out again. I guess they finally got thir hangovers under control.

"Why is it a problem for you if I point out where I think techdirt gets it wrong? Maybe if you stopped dismissing my comments you would learn something."

Umm, why bother with MAKING the comments? Just to take up space? If you have no additional info other than you opinion, just let it be.

It is SO annoying to try and read the story, and see what additional info has been uncovered, then to have to filter all the trolling out.....

    MY 2 cents worth :)

Hmmm, hopefully, they won't have the trolls doing this, lol

    would be kinda irritating.

Although..... MIGHT be fun to see if they can give us any favorite posts that are from TechDirt, lol
