  Actually, the EFF "How does this work" link (https://letsencrypt.org/howitworks/technology/) has a good explanation of how manually validating a domain and creating a signed certificate. Just those steps are all done manually by the administrator of the website normally.

  Millions of emails a day wouldn't cause an off the shelf mail server and mail archiver combo to even break a sweat to search for all the emails from/to/cc any number of recipients and senders. That is super easy these days, even for systems with gigantic email loads(which I assume the NSA has on their internal email system. Also, remember, their internal email will be completely separated from the "big data"-esque dragnet system(s))

  question

  So if I take a picture and someone uses that picture without my permission for something that I am completly against (say, the KKK for a rally) but they aren't trying to directly make money via the image, I can't sue to stop them from using my picture? That doesn't seem right..
  
  I may just not be understanding the situation at hand though.

  I have never (not once) put a ripped dvd on any website, and yet, even that is illegal as far as the movie industry is concerned.

  That is an almost criminal interpretation of the first amendment. Free speech only protects you from the *THE GOVERNMENT.* If your "speech" adversely affects your customers and they then flee from your company for that exact reason, it is simple market dynamics. A corporation's first concern is, and should be, its profits. Anything else either helps or hinders that.
  
  Supporting an American internet censorship bill is obviously bad for business for a registrar/web hosting company and while it and the people who run it can have all the opinions in the world, that doesn't mean squat when your customers are flying away.
  
  (disclosure: I am a godaddy customer (5 domains) who is planning on leaving them because of PIPA/SOPA)

  As a born again Atheist (see: Christian turned atheist) I find that the more Atheist I become, the more Christ-like I become.
  As an Atheist, I feel no ill will toward those above who have been lied to their entire life, and I hope they find some peace in this lifetime.
  If it I am threatened by a fundamentalist Christian in this, the only thing I can do is turn the other cheek. Hate only begets hate.
