And yet on DrudgeReport.com, he linked to a story about this on nbcchicago.com but used his own headline "JUDGE: CRAIGSLIST Can Sell Sex..." Talk about not getting it. Of course, the story Drudge linked to didn't seem to understand the issue much better but they were a little more neutral about it.
Is anybody else bothered by the idea that (apparently) only the food industry can obtain certain food testing "kits?" Why are these only available to the food industry?
Fox bought the rights and after working on it for a while, they chose to stop development. Now that Warner has a movie in the can and ready to release Fox SUDDENLY steps up and says not so fast??? Where were they when this project was announced three (give or take) years ago? This is nothing more than legalized (questionable imho) blackmail. The decision SHOULD have been that Fox is still free to develop their own lapsed project or perhaps a "refund" (plus interest?) of their original payment for the movie rights.
It's not the stupidity you really have to ban, they usually take care of themselves eventually. Unfortunately it's lawyers who keep arguing that there is no law expressly forbidding conducting a post mortem while driving (or some other such stupid activity while operating a motor vehicle) so even when police officers write tickets for these things, their lawyer gets it dismissed.
Actually I believe the biggest danger is to the blind. They rely on being able to hear approaching cars at crosswalks. I can understand the need for a vehicle to make more noise for their benefit.
Why does the government have to have custom built EVERYTHING??? What is wrong with an off the shelf PDA or smartphone with the census form loaded as software??? I've seen our local convience stores using Palms for inventory control. Why does our federal (and often state) government need everything built special for them when off the shelf components would work just fine and save the taxpayers a lot of money??????????
I don't think so. If they were just showing her face or one or two pictures of her then I would agree, but it's obvious they are using a "sex sells" approach to the whole issue. Regardless of what SHE did, she has not at this time been charged with a crime, the only reason she is being put out there is because she was the last girl hired by Spitzer. I admit I am not familiar with the law regarding how they can be used because she had posted them publicly on her MySpace page BUT they are obviously using them for their salacious value not any inherent news value.
Why is it that despite H1-B Visas supposedly being designed for so-called jobs that cannot be filled by adequately educated Americans, something like 75% (according to Lou Dobbs, and I apologize if I got the number off a little) are issued to LOW skilled workers?
Considering that the Grateful Dead used to encourage their fans to bring tape recorders to their concerts and share recordings, I find this highly ironic.
No that is EXACTLY what it's about. Of COURSE the companies are trying to save a buck. Just saw today that they pay an average $12,000 a year ($5.76 an hour) LESS than the median salary for others in the same job. Yes companies are sending jobs overseas but let's stop letting them train these people over here first.
It is worth mentioning that cable is NOT everywhere, where I live in northern NY and I'm sure many other areas of the country cable companies have not run their service to all areas mainly for the same reasons that phone companies wouldn't have if it hadn't been for the USF. So, yes, there are economic reasons for not getting cable but they aren't always personal reasons.
I have to say, having done many things while driving, I have found NONE as distracting as talking on a cell phone, even using a headset. Even talking with someone IN the same car with me was not as distracting. Somehow, talking with someone who is not there is much more distracting. I don't know WHY this is but it certainly it was the case for me.
As a person who has suffered hearing loss from environmental noise, no it is NOT obvious! Perhaps you might do some research before making statements like this. Audiologists (hearing testers) have been saying that with the growing use of portable music players with headphones, people are putting their hearing more and more at risk. It has been stated previously but there are many factors in damage to your hearing, it isn't just the volume of the noise but also there is a time factor involved. Please check some facts in the future before making posts like this and perhaps you might get your own hearing checked too.
I was using one the other day to listen to my MP3 player in my car and that's exactly what happened, a local public radio station was cutting in on my tunes. I wonder if anyone who was listening to the station heard my broadcast for the half a second we were close enough as we passed on the road.
Unfortunately they are usually NOT the same. Granted, the movie itself usually is (although there are sometimes added or extended scenes - Lord of the Rings anyone?), but they add in different extras, deleted scenes, short clips about the making of the movie, trivia tracks, commentaries by everyone from the director to the caterer. All these things are used to get you to buy the movie again, but to say everything is the same on each edition is a bit short sighted. Does anyone actually know how many different cuts have been released for Army of Darkness? Anyway, in this case (Star Wars) what they are releasing is the origianal (as shown in theatres) cuts of Star Wars, episodes IV, V and VI. There will be LESS special effects (Lucas went back for the re-release and made them better) and they claim that the video quality will be slightly poorer but for me, the ORIGINAL scene between Han Solo and Greedo will be worth it!!!

Not Getting It

Restricted Test Kits

Ban Lawyers Instead

HIGH Skilled Workers???

How Ironic

Great Idea!!!
Wow, see they ARE doing something about the undue influence of lobbyists on our politicians! At least that's what they WANT you to think. LOL
