I'm aware of what they said. I just don't think it's a valid defense. If you're launching a social media site and your policy on how to stop people from spamming racist slurs at anyone who fails the brown paper bag test in any way resembles "we'll figure it out later", you fucked up so hard it should get you a pro wrestling crowd chanting at you.
I'm not saying Schmid is a Nazi, but I am saying that the last time some right-wing German asshole got pissy about degenerate media, the country had to add Section 86 to their criminal code.
"Any given Minneapolis sports team"?
Eh, honestly, I don't have as much of a problem as long as it goes through the same review process as any other report. (Which, given how rarely Twitter acted on the flagging, it honestly sounds like it did.)
Sir, this is the Culver's drive-through.
Remember, if you go far enough left, you get your guns back.
Private rights of action are not loopholes around constitutional rights. Courts are agents of government enforcement. This bill is as unconstitutional as a bill only allowing the state to sue would be.That's only true if the courts want it to be true. Which, so far, they haven't.
Projecting so hard the FAA is drafting a warning letter about what your post is doing to nearby airplanes.
Most people understand there will be no new art unless the artists are supported, and will support artists directly. You'd be surprised how rarely that happens outside of specialized communities.
Got to admit, I look forward to reading the ruling in Put Up v. Shut Up.
I used to work for one of the companies that Apple uses to get warm bodies in their call centers, and one of the memories that will never leave my head from those miserable days is just how often parents would get angry at me because I had to get their kids to say "yes, you can tell mom about the purchases I made on my account". I had to get permission from their kid because, when the parent set up the account, they put in their own birthdate instead of the kid's. Because they couldn't figure out how to create an account if they put in the kid's. I very much look forward to seeing parents do the same thing with Facebook and promptly get angry when Facebook refuses to let them spy on their "adult" child's account.
No wonder you ran screaming from the idea of a debate if "whiny little liberal bitch" is the best rebuttal you can come up with. Though, to be fair, at least you spelled it correctly.
Let me guess. Gab is down for maintenance?
And look where we are today: we’ve got Business Insider citing someone named “Maia arson crimew”.Holy fucking bingle, am I right?
My first experience with Mastodon involved an instance that literally got harassed out of existence by a bunch of right-wing assholes who did everything in their power to spread misinformation about it. This isn't an inherent problem with Mastodon or decentralization, obviously, but gatekeepers do exist and they can cause significant problems for anyone who isn't a cishet white dude.
