Well, he wouldn't have been in bed with Hollywood, so we would just have a different problem.
There are plenty of documentaries and news articles where people are misrepresented against their will. How much moreso in fiction, where you are helping someone bring their vision to life?
(Or is this attempting to be a docudrama? I haven't seen it.)
If you are continuing to be a bad actor, then it's fine that they are getting you using parallel construction.
Example: NSA finds out you are a drug dealer and alerts DEA. DEA watches you. You deal drugs again. You go to jail, but only for the second offense. This is no different than any other "anonymous" tip.
Example 2: A guy gives money to a terrorist organization once (maybe he was misled). The NSA lets the FBI know about it. They keep watching him, even begging him for funds. He never gives the funds. Are they going to get him for his first offense using parallel construction? If so, how?
Oh, I care about them. I am saddened that people victimize others.
But not enough to outweigh some freedoms (ie being spied on 24/7 and having that be used politically against people trying to fix the system).
Exactly. If ANYTHING on your computer tries to connect to a service at the same time as you are on TOR, they may be able to track you. So, you pretty much would have to boot off a Live CD every time you used TOR, which is a massive pain, that is too cumbersome for most people.
Also, any photo taken needs to have the GPS info stripped. If you forget even once, you're going down. Etc, etc, etc.
Way too many things to think about to get it perfectly right every single time. But that's what it takes to stay anonymous.
Sounds good in theory. In practice:
* My wife can't use Linux because, as a mystery shopper, some sites still require IE
* As a realtor, the forms program requires Windows
* My daughter is studying graphic design, she's required to use Photoshop and Illustrator
* My kids are required to use Word for school; when I tried Linux one stupid teacher practically gave my daughter a zero because the formatting wasn't correct after it came over from OpenOffice
It sounds easy, but it's not. There's constantly another party requiring Windows in some form or another.
Yeah, Progressive sued their own account holder.

I used to have 21st Century (before they got bought by Farmers) and they were great to us but weren't going to pay anything they didn't have to. In the last accident (starting from a red light at 3 MPH), they told the lady that if she claimed an injury, they would prosecute her for fraud to the full extent of the law. That nonsense dropped quick.
But now, they got bought by someone who won't treat you as well.
Happens every night at the Tron thing in California Adventure.
No, it's legal. But did you see that guy at the end? If they show the clips, they'll pull his press credential.
"Instead, the only person in jail... and being tortured is the guy who blew the whistle on it."
But I love the guy that eminent domained the Supreme Court Justice and all her friends after she wrote in favor of this.
But in this case, the state paid for all that stuff. Only makes sense that they can seize it if they leave.
Actually, I haven't seen a single April 1 article on Slashdot today. I'm really disappointed, actually.
Well great. Now you can see her name every time they show it on TBS...

I really wanted to like Occupy and the Tea Party, but unfortunately, both of them were stupid and aimless.
