  more surveillance allows them to let more threats through. Which in turn paves the way for more dictatorial laws. The end goal is not safety but a dictatorship where the few reap the benefits and wealth of the many.
  
  There is much precedence in what is currently happening in the world if one only knows the history behind how most dictators rose to power.
  
  step 1: create a threat
  
  Step 2: use said threat to convince your citizens they need to transfer their rights and power to said individual to combat the threat.
  
  Repeat step two until those that dissent are vastly outnumbered by those that will become slaves for the promise of safety and security.
  
  Step 3: outlaw any groups that you deem undesirable, make sure to couch it in terms that it's for the betterment of society if these groups are no longer allowed.
  
  Step 4: imprison and arrest anyone that still speaks against you.
  
  Step 5: congratulations you turned another wealthy former democratic country into a 3rd world nation with a petty dictator at it's head that holds 99% of the nation's wealth and resources to play King with.

  That would mostly likely result in 1 less dirty cop around to harass and possible murder citizens.
  
  if killing a criminal cop saved multiple lives I would think going to jail for the rest of your life would be a fair compromise

  The question is will the police turn locked vehicles into unlocked ones to justify rifling through them. How many of those valuables will vanish along the way to the station to be recorded and put in a safe place for the owner?
  
  Is cash going to be considered an easily misplaced item that will more often than not end up conviently forgotten in the officers pockets?

  I have never seen anything wrong with the name Redskins. Until this current age of political correctness fascism no one had a problem with the team name.
  
  Why is it seen as a derogative use of the name instead of celebrating the use of the name?
  
  Are we going to decide all the other team names have to be changed because some random person decides to start being offended?

  Let's be honest here. The last several presidential administrations have proven they have utter contempt for the rights and privledges granted to citizens by the constitution. They are probably eager at the bit for any chance that will officially make the constitution so much toilet paper like they already treat it unoficially

  Like operation "choke point" where the DoJ illegaly targeted porn actors by forcing businesses and banks to shut down any accounts with said porn industry in an attempt to make them go bankrupt.

  the problem though comes from if you restrict guns from your citizens you need to restrict them from the cops, and just about everyone else. Allowing for exceptions makes such a gun ban pointless.
  
  
  As it is there are far fewer gun toting murderers than there are gun owners.
  
  Even if you banned guns from 99% of the population there would still be that disconnect.
  
  Personally I think we should focus on the mental health problem more than what weapon they happen to use for their murder sprees.
  
  Otherwise we might as well ban every other object that people use to murder. That would be stuff like cars, cutlery, heavy objects, etc.
