    CIPA Tech Companies

Currently many tech companies are facing serious problems in foreign markets because what their past actions were in sharing data with the US government. CIPA will only make this worse. Does Congress really want to kill off the foreign markets of US tech companies?

    Automation and the Future

the greatest rewards for automation come when high skill, high paid jobs are automated. Many so called high skill high tech jobs will be automated out of existence. In the recent past IBM has made public statements to this effect. Manufacturing jobs were high paid jobs because they were physically demanding and also difficult to adapt to emotionally. Try lifting 50 pounds 4 times a minute for 8 hours. I read so many comments that have no idea what the assembly line was like. To all the future high tech automation victims you won't get much sympathy. There does not seem to be any apparent possible set of employment options which will make this situation better.

    Never Again

As the illegal government in Kiev draws manpower and support from the largest fascist movements in western Europe in Moscow memories of the Great Patriotic War are foremost in the minds of the leadership of Russia. Russia will not and in fact cannot allow a fascist government to stay in power on it's border.

  • Rep. Peter King Says NSA Should Spy On Congress, Because They Might Be Talking To Al Qaeda

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 07 Jan, 2014 @ 11:58am

    Why?

Why is the NSA collecting data on Congress people? Do we really have to ask that question? The answer is to get more Congress people talking like Rep King. The use of the data collected seems to lead to some very dark areas including is this country still a democracy.

I hope that the President doesn't yield to several conservative Congress people and use his self proclaimed power of targeted killing to make the Assange problem go away. When your conduct is not governed by the laws of either man nor God anything no matter how dark becomes possible.

  • NSA Worked Out Deal With GCHQ To Spy On UK Citizens, Secretly Expanded It

    Re:

Ronny it's not so much a country betraying it's own citizens to another government it is using the other government to get around protections built into law. I can't cite were I read this but it isn't an original idea of mine. An example would be the Canadian government using US government spying on a Canadian that is illegal under Canadian law. The spying on the Canadian could occur even if he was in Canada. Certainly this is a nasty dirty business and a clear betrayal of the citizens of all the countries involved. There is probably more going on than this but this is bad enough.

  • Privacy Groups Want The Government To Investigate Google Over The NSA's Hacking

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 15 Nov, 2013 @ 06:12am

    Google good bad or indifferent

If Google and the other large companies have done nothing wrong then they should be asking for a full investigation to clear their business reputations. Of course they are not calling for any investigation. These companies after some of the spying is revealed have become champions of privacy. We may never know what happened. A very large powerful government acting in secrect may have made demands that could not have been refused. Corporate interests in the US and the rest of the world should come clean and support independent investigation. Google and other companies should reveal their role in the spying so everyone can have faith in their actions going forward.

  • Less Than 20% Of Americans Believe That There's Adequate Oversight Of The NSA

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 12 Nov, 2013 @ 06:32am

    Good Agiprop

I think the powers that be have been successful in deflecting their role in the NSA spying. The NSA is not out of control. The President and at least some members of Congress know and support the NSA and it's current role. So if your looking for the responsible parties you can find them in the White House and on Capitol Hill. They should be held responsible for both their actions and their inaction. Elections can be very useful in calling to account those who by their actions and inaction have brought us to this point.

  • NSA Insists It Needs All The Metadata, While Eric Holder Says He Was 'Concerned' About It Even Before Snowden

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 07 Nov, 2013 @ 06:04am

    Eric Holder

Eric Holder knew about this situation and he did nothing. He was concerned but did not propose any changes to then existing policy. Eric if you know about a problem and have some authority to prevent the problem then you are part of the problem. It could be his concern was what was being done didn't go far enough. If Obama could get a replacement confirmed Holder and several other members of the cabinet would be looking for new cushy establishment jobs.

  • It's Finally Dawning On Tech Companies That All This NSA Stuff Is Bad For Them

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 03 Nov, 2013 @ 01:08pm

    Credit where credit is due

It is apparent that the companies listed are late to the party. Most if not all of internet companies complied with NSA requests. But they really didn't have much of a choice. Now their interests as companies coincide with a better legislation governing the spying. We have to keep a close eye to make sure this legislation is actually an improvement. Better late than never and sometimes business interests can coincide with a better future.

  • Watch The Video Of Rep. Mike Rogers Attacking Fellow Reps For Saying They Had No Idea NSA Spied On Foreign Leaders

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 01 Nov, 2013 @ 07:47am

    We better understand this

The NSA is not a rogue agency. This whole situation is fully authorized. If you don't like this situation then the way forward is clear. It doesn't make any of this right but it does suggest a large number of elected officials should not be re-elected and or be removed from office by impeachment. Rep Rogers is both honest and evil at the same time.

  • Illinois The First State To Throw Out Laws Making Amazon Collect Sales Tax Based On Affiliates

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 22 Oct, 2013 @ 06:26am

    A personal story

I live in Minnesota and recently I tried to buy a blanket from a web site located in Michigan. I was told that I would have to pay sales tax on the blanket because there was an agreement between Michigan and Minnesota. When I checked this on the internet I found there was such an agreement between Minnesota and 20 to 30 other states. I sent a number of emails to the revenue department of the Minnesota asking the details of this situation. No one cared to reply except to send a form email that implies I would have to pay Michigan sales tax and also Minnesota use tax. I tried calling the Revenue department only to be placed on hold and then dumped off the line. The effective sales tax would be over 17 percent. Use tax is a tax you pay on out of state purchases. It is generally equal to the in state sales tax. So no blanket and a firm resolve never to purchase anything from any of the states. I am sorry but I can't remember the name of this group of states agreement.

    What the future looks like

When is Senator Dan Coates up for election? It is long past the time when the voters should replace him. The FISA court has a number of problems. The worst of these is that the NSA would simply ignore any decision that the FISA court made that NSA didn't like.

  • The NSA Is Dianne Feinstein's And Mike Rogers' Abusive, Cheating Spouse

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 29 Aug, 2013 @ 04:57am

    Feinstein Ad Hominen?

Senator Feinstein seems to be suffering from PTSD.It is clear that her idea of an approach to dealing with a problem is to give arbitrary power to someone official in the hope that things will get better. Even if you favour gun control her proposals in that area seem to be really out there. She is nothing less than a cheer leader for the current surveillance policies.

  • Down To Just A Few Possibilities: President Obama Either Lied Or Is Ignorant About The NSA

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 20 Aug, 2013 @ 06:01am

    What Do We Know

What needs to be done is clear. We need an investigation of what actually happened. The investigation should be similar to the investigation of former President Nixon. Start at the bottom and work up the chain of command and find out the truth of the situation. What did the President know and when did he know it is the ultimate information that is sought. When there are co conspirators they will lie to protect each other. Is the President a fool and a weak one at that or is he a very bad man doing very bad things? The answer to either of those questions is the President should resign.

  • Oh, And Let's Not Forget That The NSA Tried To 'Intercept' A Ton Of Phone Calls From Egypt

    Noneofyourbuisness ( profile ), 17 Aug, 2013 @ 07:09am

    202 Area Code?

So by accident? they collected the data for calls to and from Congress people. Also collected was the data for phones connected to the Supreme Court and administrative agencies. Not to mention the Joint Chiefs of staff and all the NGOs that have headquarters or offices in the 202 area code. Also all the people that work at all of the above entities. Also the home phone data of anyone living in DC. Including lobbying organizations and their staffs. That is an amazing self serving mistake. Udall and Wyden have said we still are seeing only the tip of the iceberg. What more is there to find out? Be afraid very afraid.
