The biggest issue I have with text messaging rates is how both the sender and recipient are charged. Is this respect, it's similar to the idea of ISPs charging content providers for the connection to consumers. It's like if the USPS charged the recipient of a letter for delivery in addition to requiring the sender to affix a stamp.
