Elon said 'By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law.' So this is exactly what he said he wanted. https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1519036983137509376?lang=en
I might have to side with the cops due to the perps sounding like complete jerks. That's a horrible rationale. If complete jerks don't have rights, then none of us do.
I wouldn’t trust them to use one of the most expensive and bulky animals with a modicum of safety. That's fair, but if they don't have horses they may use riot shields and batons, which I think would be worse.
Most of those depicted I would personally have no problem with those drivers being fined. If they're issuing tickets on a small percentage of submissions, it sounds like they're being judicious and just fining the worst violations. I would be interested to see some kind of randomized study on whether this improves road safety. If everyone just keeps doing stupid dangerous things anyway, then it's just more ticket revenue without actually doing any good.
which they won’t want to do.You are really rolling the dice with this one. They may be perfectly happy to do it.
If the officer thinks that you made a moving violation then you can’t talk your way out of an arrest or a citation. You might be able to talk yourself into one by aggravating the cop though. IMO giving brief polite answers to most questions is the best approach. I wouldn't go the fifth amendment route unless things are already going downhill anyway.
How about Phoebe and Joey? https://imgflip.com/i/8wvv4g
She may write a concurrence or discurrenceThe word is "dissent".
It comes down to property rights. The builder owns the house, and can decide what happens there. The buyer can forgo the inspection, or decide not to buy the home.
Are you seriously stupid enough to think that Putin will be satisfied with a bit of Ukraine and that’ll be the end of it?Stupidity or Russian propaganda? Hard to tell but I'm leaning toward the latter.
I don’t see how Ukraine will ever win this war without being able to attack inside Russia. They are attacking inside Russia. https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-russia-weapons-biden-kharkiv-c46c3ca0f0f4893c8c3b0ef53e974438
But price controls are not the answer, reforming copyright is.
they have registered the word (and the shape) as an intellectual property in the EU.If true, that would be the most concerning part. Meeples (at least in Carcassone) are a simplified human shape. Nobody should be able to trademark that.
Nothing against bikers, but I’ve known a lot of them, and I’m not sure that’s who I want policing my neighborhood.Sounds like you do have something against bikers.
most of us knew from the very beginning the were going to have a guilty verdict in that case.In case you were somehow not aware rather than just lying, the guilty verdict was returned by the jury, not the judge.
Actually, that’s a description of Cockney rhyming slang from one city in one country in particular, not British slang from all four countries in general.Akshually, since that city is part of Britain, Cockney rhyming slang is British slang.
We speak of tie-wraps"Tie-wrap" (or "tie wrap") is generic; the trademarked term is "Ty-Rap". Or as the mark owner calls it, Ty-Rap®. Though of course when speaking there's no difference, just thought it was interesting because I'd never heard of the brand. https://www.wkk-europe.com/news/post/the-history-of-cable-ties-and-why-we-use-the-term-ty-rapr/
Good piece, but repetitive - could have used another editing pass.
no impetus to ever build a user base large enough to make them useful. Why do you say that?
Presumably it's the not being the case part that is unfortunate, not the us knowing about it part.
