I can expect them to be scumbags... but I wouldn't give them credit for much beyond that.
Yeah, people will think it's all their fault.
I feel quite shaken up about this.
I've been trying to think of something clever to say, but this kind of douchebaggery from the GOP just makes my head hurt.
That's a pretty hefty facepalm. It might do.
I can't help but think that this is a perfect example of why copyright should require registration, instead of being automagically granted.
There is no facepalm big enough for this.
I am totally with you on this. I saw the news today that there would be rulings, and it makes me so happy to see that our Supreme Court has their heads screwed on right :)
Please note, this isn't to defend these people. Just pointing out the kind of mindset that lashes out at the way things are going.
Since I have friends who are new musicians that agree wholeheartedly with Lowery, I would point out it's not just people who made money in the old system and make less now who are decrying Free Culture, but those who bought into the hype and dream of the rock star, and now see their chances to attain that lifestyle dwindling who are also striking out.
I work at a smaller college, in the department that prints out course packs, and several professors have been asking us how to scan their materials so they can put it online as a PDF since the price to copy is so high now.
Can't be. If that was the case, there would have actually been some believable emotion in that 'Nooooo!'
It's kinda funny, but I've found more awesome music that I listen to regularly via this site in the past two years than I have via the radio.
Is anyone here at all surprised that SOPA being defeated wasn't the end of it all? Anyone...?
Yeah. Didn't think so. Remain vigilant, folks.
Of course it should become expensive to read to kids! If the kids get interested in books, they might start reading themselves. If they read for themselves, they might pick up some of that pesky learnin'. If they learn, heaven forbid, they might actually figure out that SABAM is unecessary. We can't be having that, now can we? $328.00 please.
Being Canadian, I haven't been following Ron Paul closely, but yes, if this is just one mistake, it is forgivable.
Of course, it doesn't hurt to point out the mistake as well so that it's noticed and hopefully not repeated.
Of course it's exactly the same as making a copy, for reasons that will seem perfectly clear if you bash your head into a brick wall several times.
Wasn't it Carl Sagan who said "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe"?
Wow, that's some prolific writing. Congratulations!
Or maybe it is responding to the right one... I wish there was a delete button. I feel silly now.
