    Social networking sites are not a cause. They are not a symptom. At best they are just a tool. A child can misuse any tool, whether it be a gun, a car, a phone, a hammer or a social networking site. The difference is how you teach them about using it.

    Be an authority in your child's life without being an authoritarian and you will do good by them.

    I couldn't say it any better. Agreed.

    That being said, I think there is some common sense that parents need to exercise when it comes to the level of "connectivity" that their children really need. I see these 6/7 year olds in my neighborhood walking around with cell phones and I just wanna walk over to their parents and say: seriously?

    Read: "A buyer that the Justice Department controls". As true and bothersome as the security issues are with these systems, this is all about the government gaining control over it's own voting system to make it easier to fix elections.

    A basic illustration on numbers related to this case. Take them as they are, trust me I'm no math geek or economist by any stretch.

    Say the game's original cost is $40 and they average selling 1000 "digital units" per day on the weekends. Also lets assume they run this "fire sale" over the weekend(Fri, Sat, Sun) as many of these companies do, such as Steam or Impulse etc.

    $40*1000=$40,000x3(days)=$120,000 in revenue for that weekend on that game. Now, slash the price by 75%...So $40-75%=$10. 1000x5.5(5500%)=5500 of "units" sold per day for the sale increase. $10*5500=$55,000x3(days)=$165,000 in sales on the same game over the same time period.

    So if I'm calculating that correct that's an increase of about 28% in total revenue. As was mentioned the cost of an infinite good distributed digitally is MUCH smaller than a physical good and will not change no matter what the price is set at. So the choice is easy, sell the product at a significantly lower price point and make more money overall and get it in the hands of many more people for recommendations and word of mouth advertising for all your future products, or just keep ripping your customers for some "magic" profit margin. In other words... do I want to bring in $40,000/day in revenues off this product or $55,000/day?

    If someone much smarter than me wishes to make sure my math is correct please feel free, I apologize if something is wrong.

    I'm not even interested in Bioshock 2. I was thinking about downloading the torrent just to seed it to others. May as well strike one back at the man. Then promptly delete it without playing just because I can.

    I think they want people to stop playing PC games all together and flock to console based ones.

    The funny thing is about that, and I'm sure it's true, is that when you go to the major torrent search engines and see all the latest "games" posted for download 95% of them are all console games... ie Nintendo DS, Xbox360, PS3 etc. What a bunch of toolbags these publishers are. I laugh in their faces and don't buy their crap games that either suck or are loaded up with DRM... or both.

    No, if you look at the link you provided which I obviously saw before I posted, is that it says NO WHERE on there "click here to see 3G coverage". The only option they have is for "Broadband Coverage". That could mean anything, including 2G etc. If you bothered to look at AT&T's coverage maps, their map that includes all "broadband" data coverage including 2G etc looks almost identical to Verizon's "broadband" coverage map.

    So in answer to your question, no...we are not supposed to assume they're lying because I can't navigate a website, we're supposed to assume they're lying because you can't read a website and just assume what they're saying in print means what they imply in some stupid commercial.

    On top of that if you read the fine print underneath the maps on Verizon's site you get to this nice little tidbit:"Some of the coverage area includes networks run by other carriers; some of the coverage depicted is based on their information and public sources and we cannot ensure its accuracy." So even if all of that coverage is 3G, it's not even all their network.

    Although I agree that AT&T is stupid for suing over the ad, I call the ad bullshit. I don't believe that Verizon has 3G coverage over 90%+ of its overall coverage area. I believe they're just showing their overall data coverage map(ie including "edge" type areas) and comparing it to AT&T's 3G only map. Notice if you go to Verizon's site they provide no 3G only coverage map and the link they provide to the 3G comparison is just a copy of their tv ad. That and if you compare the maps they show in their tv ad their map shows way more than the "5x more coverage" than AT&T's. Just my initial thoughts from when I saw the ad myself.

    I bought this game a couple of weeks ago off of Direct2drive when they ran their 5 year anniversary sale and had this game among many others on sale for $5. My kids love this game, so it was worth every penny.
