  first 105,000 is not a lot for a news organisation like the times.A drop of 26,000 is a big drop when you start low and get lower, co,pared to the hits when free. that said i will find more interesting figures for news corps. more populer paper THE SUN when it goes behind a pay wall the times in the UK is a little elitist still. in the mean time i will continue with the gaurdian.

  It will certainly cost them a lot more for separate cases which they may lose. As to the plaintives in this case who are they hardly universal pictures never heard of them.

  surely the question here should, does a court in Illinois have jurisdiction over an alleged act in California? Being a Brit I am not sure on this one.

  Of course the entertainment industry would love the courts to ban all DVRs whether cloud based or in the home. They could charge per view that way.

  I still wonder if all "defendants" are in the courts jurisdiction. even in the same country but of course that does not matter any more. I hope John Steele has a large fine for wasting court time.

  I agree however the courts in both the UK and USA have really little understanding of copywrong laws even worse when contracts come into play.

  it is certainly not illegal and for a wire tap charge to stick surely the er suspect would have to have hacked the police phones or radio and that was not done.IMO
