Ridley Scott is the Chief Intelligence Officer.
The UPS store owner told the deputy that a black male entered the UPS store and paid $90 to have the package shipped to Houma, Louisiana. According to the deputy’s police report, “[d]ue to the [cost of shipping the package] and suspicious behavior of the suspect,”
So apparently if a black man wants to overnight a package they should use FedEx.
(I'm assuming overnight is why the package was so expensive)
What has changed since the 60's??
One major thing - almost every ordinary citizen has a video camera in their pocket. I don't doubt that these same issues with the police have been around for half a century, but now everyone can see it. Cops can't hide it anymore, no matter how hard they try.
What happened in Dallas is a tragedy, but I understand why it happened. No matter how the FOP and union assholes try to spin it, cops have brought this on themselves.

Looks like Clarence "Nap Time" Thomas has stepped right into Scalia's shoes without any problem.
I'd like to know the FACTS about how this actually works. Most of what I see here is conjecture. Can they actually take money from your bank account or credit cards, or does it only apply to prepaid cards?
I'm curious about this as well. While it's obvious they had no right to speak to her client or arrest her, what's the law on them taking pictures? Technically they are in a public place.
Is this essentially making the DNA of 10000 people available to law enforcement, etc?

I suppose those are all "yellow journalism" as well?
All this ruling means is that they will always dump the contents of the bag to determine the owner.
Dammit Jim, I'm a troll not a logician.

Wouldn't surprise me to learn that the RIAA are the ones setting up these Grooveshark clones.
A truthful analogy would be that Comcast's service is like a road that never wears out. You may need to widen it on occasion due to increased traffic, but that's it.
The real question is does she have FIOS available where she lives? If not, maybe she doesn't watch TV so why pay for it?
One thing not mentioned in the Techdirt piece (but in the original) is that the parent's house is in a different county (Shiawassee) than the son's house where the pot was found (Saginaw). The warrent for the parent's house was issued by a Saginaw county judge, not one from Shiawassee. Maybe it doesn't ultimately matter from a legal standpoint, but it sure seems fishy. Wouldn't surprise me if the Saginaw county judge is in cahoots with the Sheriffs department.
