    Men At Work

The remaining members of the band Men At Work should get together with Kangaroo Condoms and make the parody song "Gland Down Under".

(to a musical tune) 'Do you come from a gland down under?'

I am sure they could also work the group name of Men at Work into the parody there somewhere. I am sure once explored, the possibilities here would be very forthcumming.

    Only one question really

Either way, it seems like it opens up some pretty serious copyright questions.

The only copyright question this helps bring up are why the heck are America's copyright laws so insanely stupid and one sided? Copyright needs to be massively reeled in or outright repealed at this point.

    Spreading the word

Thanks to the buzz that the demonic-rituals-that-shall-not-be-named have created for themselves recently do to them going on, I have taken these chances to talk to people about the evils they have committed. Have been informing people of the censorship and bullying. Each time, I make sure to point out that I commend the athletes for being so skilled in their sports, but the games, their completely commercially exploited nature, and especially those in charge need to be strung out to dry.

After stating only 3 of the great many more instances there are in any conversation of the atrocities committed by those who run not-said event, most people are already agreeing with me about how they should not be supported. When people resist because they like watching the sports, it usually only takes pointing out that something else would step up to take their place because we all like watching the sports. It is just the committee running them currently that needs to be wiped from the face of the Earth.

    Re: Re: Re:

The people here in our state like her too much in general to recall her. Even when our state turned blood red which ended up raping public education and a bunch of other big mistakes (back when they first got in) she STILL got voted in. I will be writing her a nice long email as a result of this. Once got an email from her stating that if there was anything she could do for me or my family, to let her know.

I suspect her office will simply send me back some bullshit form letter saying "we love IP!" or one of those other non answers.

    Re: Re: Mike, Please elaborate

I read it twice and still interpreted it as Mike saying that the children and their families adding files to the case would backfire against the children and their families. I perhaps could just be misunderstanding it because of how I thought it was said first.

    Mike, Please elaborate

    Mike,

Can you elaborate on the backfire part of this? Curious how it would backfire because I don't see it. Although, I know judges often make no sense and seem to toss common sense out the window so ..

It is definitely odd to see the users of a technology seek to intervene in a patent case like this, and if I had to guess, I'd say it's not actually going to work (and could possibly even backfire).

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: The Frak?

I like the idea. There is no law saying you can be the sole owner of a general idea. Anything regarding copyright and patents are supposed to be specific. Just because Close has a 'style' doesn't me nobody else can use it.

(Note that I understand our patent office is way off base and pretty much does approve patents for general ideas these days, that is however not what they are supposed to be doing)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Campbell v Acuff Rose Music

Yes, but generally that doesn't mean you take someone's copyrighted work and use it to make a new song. Those are uses that are very specific and not really meant to apply to someone making a new song.

From henceforth we shall call you Captain Censorship! Or CC for short! ... Wait ... I guess we will have to come up with a new name lest the public confuse you for an idea that is far more useful and intelligent than you are.

    Re: Re: The Frak?

The way the USPTO works, he could get two patents for that. One first for on a computer. And then another for over a network. Probably 50 other patents could stem from variations on that using terms such as network, interwebs, and series of tubes.

    Binky,
That would make sense, and be logical. Our government here doesn't seem to do that too often unfortunately. I do like your idea though.

Either go with your idea, or just have nothing at all to save those who buy time.

    What I See

I don't see an FBI Anti-Piracy Warning, I see a "Please stop buying my products legitimately" seal.

While I buy nothing that the RIAA or MPAA covers anymore (and haven't for quite a few years now), this will make it easier to spot people whose products should be avoided because they obviously don't care about their customers.

At this rate the US is going to be signing onto ACTA all by itself.

5$ says the RIAA and MPAA will still try to get congress to approve it, even with we are the only country.

    Copying

The only thing I found was that he followed Lars Ulrich's original lawsuit against Napster with his own such lawsuit.

So Dr Dre, who Morrison champions as not liking copying immediately copied the idea of suing Napster. Okay, glad to see that Dre is such an innovator himself.

    They almost had me

Their argument seemed entirely convincing until they said:

    a few stupid cat videos

Now I can never trust them again. What a sad day.

Oh wait, I never trusted anything they said to begin with.
On the other hand they also said:

and of course several jiggling pounds of college chicks shaking their booties at webcams

Sounds like they are finally spending some time on the internet!!!! Welcome to the interwebs "The Copyright Alliance"! From the sound of that last bit there you are going to enjoy it just as much as the rest of us. =D

The entire system is designed and set up so that we can do nothing.

Until more of the public wakes up that this is not a one off thing (like a lot of them think SOPA was) things won't change.

At least in the US this means that we need to get rid of all Republicans and Democrats and go to more than two independent parties.

It is rather telling of you that when a politician actually represents the people, and everybody loves them for it, then you come in and call it grandstanding.

Yet when a politician is actively working to destroy what America was supposed to stand for, then you come in defending their every move like it was some sort of godsend.

Very telling indeed. Pretty easy to see why you only ever post as an AC.

    A few good men

I am happy to know that there are a least a handful of good people in Congress. While most of them seem to just be corporate lackeys who don't care about those who actually vote them in, there are at least a select few who still represent the people.

Now if only we had more options and not a 2 party broken system, we could have representatives like this from all over the US.
