Thurgood Marshall is spinning so hard that he created a whole new alternative power resource that future American companies would switch to, but the government is sued by shady coal barons, and that case is brought to the Supreme Court where Clarence and the Conservatives shuts down any way that alternative power source could be used, so Thurgood is just spinning in his grave.
You could say that through this situation, McDonald’s isn’t Mcloving it.
Well thank god they didn’t use footage from Battlefield 2042. Otherwise it would be too realistic.
Oh, no. Disney’s losing a bit of profit because a major war in Ukraine. Oh boohoo, let me play the world’s smallest violin. 🎻
We are witnessing the precipice of a major war and if we do nothing, millions of people will die, even more would suffer, any chance for a quick and nonviolent peace is slipping away by passing hour.
Congress: B-but…. Moi c-c-copyrights….
Not even mad about the retort to “Wink Wink Nudge Nudge,” I’m actually impressed, Strawb.
You know that the Earn Act is so fundamentally fucked up that even Koby is against it.
You know, all of these bills reveal Blumenthal as one thing: he does not respect children. Or any minorities of that matter. For a Democrat, Blumenthal is pretty damned prejudiced. He comes across as extremely patronizing towards children, treating everyone as if he has a higher IQ level. And the solution is always this: to reenact the Allegory of the Cave by locking children (16 & under) in his cellar and force them to watch shadow puppets on loop. If Blumenthal truly did “think of the children,” he shouldn’t be pumping out shit like this.
Koby, if you’re just here to shit, there’s a bathroom nearby, please don’t shit on the tables.
Jeez these anagrams are getting out of control. What’s next? The “WINK, WINK. NUDGE, NUDGE.” Act?
I love how “Earn It” is so stupidly, fundamentally broken that not even Koby’s defending it.
Who’s to say? Weeks, months, later this year? We might be pro-internet, but we’re not psychics, Unfortunately.
Jeez, with that attitude, you’re essentially allowing Earn It to pass. Not to say that it’s not okay to worry shitless, because it is. This was highly expected that Earn It would pass out of committee, but there is a silver lining to it. The bill was voted out of committee unanimously, but There were legit concerns raised by five senators, four Democrats and a Republican. If they are true to their word, then that means that Earn It could face a slowdown of momentum, giving more time for the opposition to strengthen. Plus Blumenthal made a fatal mistake of admitting that Earn It is an attack on encryption, which he might as well thrown in the smoking gun before a judge. His words would be used against him. This is all hypothetical, but there is room for hope.
The biggest mistake was green lighting this bill in the first place.
Why the Judiciary Committee is going straight to a markup, rather than holding hearings with actual experts, I cannot explain, but that's the process.
I think it’s quite simple why they’re rushing the process…
it’s because the Winter Prom is the day after! They’re finishing up so that they can setup the event and dance the night away!
People are just made that Warner Bros is handing out blue and red pills.
Okay, but what does this have to do with anything? I mean, you’re not wrong, the British Empire did do morally bankrupt and fucked-up decisions based on an imperialistic mindset. But what does the history of Britannia have to do with content moderation?
Section 230 doesn’t enable bullying. It enables content moderation, a tool that can be used to combat bullying. If section 230 didn’t exist, there’s a possibility that you wouldn’t be able to puppet the musings of a wet fart. You can literally read section 230 for less than two minutes and understand it seamlessly. It’s 26 words long. But I imagine it’s hard to read something when your head is so far up your ass. So piss off and quit wasting your time trying to be a devil’s advocate, you blissfully ignorant dumbass.
