The league is run by old school, hard liners. Ther's a lot of things wrong with my favorite sport. Officiation is the worst in all of professional sports, but I digress.
I cut the cord 17 years ago & hockey was hard to find. Then I could watch all of my teams games with one subscription, no blackouts, it was great.
These days you need 3 or 4 different subscriptions to see all the games. We all know what that's called. So I bought a Chromebox for my TV and pirate stream the games. It can be a bit wonky, but I found my favorite streams & see all the games. The team doesn't even get credit for my eyes with advertisers.
I have lived in Pittsburgh's East End for almost 40 years. The neighborhood changed a couple different times in that time. For a while shootings were heard often. They very quickly went to almost nothing after SS was installed.
I have no other evidence, but will always credit the SS system.
WiFi will be a great equalizer I've been very happy with Republic Wireless for over a year and now that they have a great phone I could never see going back.
Many years ago, in the 80's, I had a DAK Bone-Phone. It was only a radio (I think), but the sound got to your ears through your bones. Worked really well.

My wife has MS and the only treatments are biological drugs which by law will never be generic. The same treatments that came out 13 or 14 years ago in the $24K - $25K range are now in the $50K - $54K range. How does that happen? No competition, that's how.
The cable companies are lying. It was 4 years for me without cable in Feb. Never miss anything that I want to watch. Back then I was out of work and cable just was an expensive luxury. I knew of no one else cutting the cord, but these days I meet others all the time.
I have a good antenna on the roof and even here in Pittsburgh, with all it's hills I get over 30 channels. 10 or 12 that I actually watch.
A dedicated laptop with a wireless mouse is my set top box, DVR, and DVD/Blu-ray player (that I never use any more). I also have a 4TB hard drive on the network that has more movies & TV shows in it than I'll ever watch.
Even though this report will probably never happen, it's opened up some really good discussions about the possibilities. I believe it will probably end up being a local thing rather than national. My city, Pittsburgh, has 2 free hours of WiFi per day downtown and there is talk of expanding it citywide. That's certainly a start.
Because of some of the discussions that were begun by this article, I found openwireless.org, so it might even end up being an individual thing.
I've always like what Bruce Schneier has said about his open WiFi access and I am now helping in my own small way by allowing free, open guest access on my home wireless router.
Was considering their $50 unlimited plan (w/2 year contract), but instead I decided on trying the Republic Wireless Beta.
Had it almost 2 months now and while I had to overpay for their only phone and it's not a cutting edge device, the service is only $19 a month. A few bugs (they are still in Beta after all), but overall I've been very happy.
Lovin a new disruptive technology and soon maybe, the newest, coolest phone.
Netflix and YouTube are not just showing knockoffs. There's some really good top quality programming, from them and others, as well.
I have a hard time believing the studios will get streaming right on their own. Probably later, rather than sooner, the "big" content producers, both movie and TV, will be begging to get back in, at almost any price.
Officiating

Shotspotter worked for me

They still have that?
I have this cool new thing called The Internet where I can watch whatever I want, whenever I want, for free!
Really?
Wonder how they're gonna stop open source, decentralized browsers?
Plans
Basic plan: $10
"- unlimited voice calls for local landlines and mobile from the same carrier
- unlimited SMS"
This is already Republic Wireless
Add unlimited 3G Data, total $25/mo
Add unlimited 4G Data, total $40/mo
I believe these are the kind of companies that will shake things up, not T-Mo
WiFi
WiFi will be a great equalizer
I've been very happy with Republic Wireless for over a year and now that they have a great phone I could never see going back.
Rights
Human Rights??
We still care about those?

Yeah, he probably would never have said Nuke

Was with T-Mo since Aerial, then Voicestream

Could be funny
Wouldn't it be funny if D' Souza is charged with uploading his own film.
Probably not gonna wise up until it's too late

Re: More Publicity
I guess it wasn't a short day after all, but the rest stands
More Publicity
Of course being ejected gets them more publicity then they could have ever imagined and that's what they were in it for.
Short day and saved some money on free waffles.
