Ever think just how hilarious it is that the RIAA got screwed over by a technicality when thats their primary meaning of making cash?
Just like the Natwest fiasco, when they unfairly sacked all their ca-7 programmers (using a technicality in their contract to say they'd missed a tiny programming item that wasn't even on an active system), then 6months later the system fell over and they had to shell out several hundred thousand dollars to EACH programmer to get them to come back and fix it?
Sometimes the universe has a very cool sense of humor....
He's not ALLOWED to just visit some other site when he's paid to try to derail music-label related comments into various sub-categories.
MIGHT have an STD..not DOES......
Obama MIGHT be about to nuke syria because he thinks it's worth 8000xp and will let him level up to be a lvl 2 US president.......again notice the word MIGHT....
As we know the RIAA hates techdirt and views Mike as "the enemy".
Whats the bet within 24hrs of such a law passing that they claim techdirt (and by extension everything Mike owns) is related to "infringement" and abuses the law to try to shut down dissent....
Ever get the feeling that we're headed to a future where people are going to start actively attacking RIAA members etc?
Thats the point they're trying to drive the public to, where someone literally loses EVERYTHING...meaning they lose custody of their kids (no house, no job, no money) and with nothing left to lose they borrow a neighbours shotgun and go after those that "ruined my life".....
Since theres so much non-infringing stuff that the MPAA would like to steal, they want people to come forward for "valuable" data, so they can look at it first, steal what they want and then "return" the data to the owner.
Apparently thats FAR more efficient than trying to rifle through the entire megaupload system looking for things to illegally take.
and the MPAA has been known to 'steal' data and intellectual property in this way before....there are entire film scripts that were sold under the counter that have been taken from websites....songs...you name it.
ALL genocides/murders/bad stuff tied to the alphabet!
Sources say apparently most documents related to criminal activity produced during the past thousand or so years have relied on the letters a through z.
Sources say this link proves that the entire alphabet along with written and spoken language must be banned to stop piracy/terrorists/for the children......
They're living up to their name Mike, now you're gonna SPRINT straight into the arms of their rivals.......
If the RIAA had ANY sense of honor whatsoever they'd re-start their campaign to have the MP3 player (ipod etc) banned, but as usual they're complete and utter dishonorable cowards who should do the honorable thing....
That includes every single person who used to work for, still works for, or will work for the RIAA in the future
I remember a TV documentary a few years back.
There was Richard Branson talking about space exploration and why rich people have a duty to the general population to make the world better.
There was Bill Gates, saying "this is the hospital I'm helping to fund...these are the scientist I'm paying to research stuff...."
Followed by Larry Ellision who showed off his insanely huge collection of cars and how much bigger his house was than his neighbours.....
The truth is Apple isn't "becoming" evil. It always has been evil.
When Steve Jobs died, the company went on a spree across the internet getting people to say how nice he was, a saint, a perfect soul, a genius etc.
All he did was take other peoples ideas and combine them. thats it. nothing special.
The rest of the company is exactly like the RIAA/MPAA and other Hollywood scum in that it's only purpose is to make money and screw the users.
Apple has a history of going UP in popularity then spectacularly collapsing again.
The only difference is this time, Apple has enough cash reserves and is well on the way to becoming the biggest patent troll that doesn't produce a single thing anyone wants......which isn't good.
Well I hope the CIA is a gentle lover and attends to google's needs, otherwise google is going to go out and find itself someone younger, fitter and filthier.....
I'm betting at least 75% of the "sports" at the olympics are rigged anyway...if the UK wants a trade deal with Austria, they let em get a few silver....for a major oil deal with russia....lotsa gold.........and bribes all round to the IOC!!!!
Just wait til the IOC tries to have the Simpsons banned for infringing on their logo of Lisa giving Bart some incestuous lip-lovin'
Not whiter than white? wouldnt that be I'm having my child slaves make me some #nike gear at #olympics2012 or I'm poisoning mah baby with nestle baby formula for the #olympics2012 ?????
He sounds like a broken record...which is kinda ironic since thats all the RIAA has going for it these days :)
bit more than "a loss". total cost for the olympics when you figure in security, air to ground (and air to air) missiles + the prime ministers personal bribes etc comes to around ?96billion....thats around $150 billion.
They try to claim its only ?15 billion by ignoring everything except the physical structure of the stadiums (which are being sold for literally ?1 after the games are over - which was the whole point - cream billions off the public to build something then sell it back to yourself for a nominal sum)...
So far, I've seen the official toothbrush, chocolate bar, cigarette (that was unofficially 'official' due to advertising laws), toilet paper, wooden kitchen surface and printer paper of the olympic games....compared to this christmas is a model of anti-consumerism.
Re: One word explanation ( use it for 99% of US topics )
Sadly its gone beyond corruption into wholesale evil.
Pretty much every congressman, senator, cabinet member, heck even the president has taken bribes from the RIAA, MPAA, pharma companies and others to let laws written by corporations pass.
