Just the mention of Real Housewives reduces IQ. Please stop or collectively we will become as smart as the average troll.
Shutting down bit torrent would also shut down the 14% that is non infringing. Its called prior restraint.
Agreed. If we can hold back the corporate interests and the government for a few more years we will have the structures in place to "overhaul" the system.
"Don't forget they want to add .music so that only "accredited" musicians have access to the internet."
The simple solution would be to create a .NotRIAA TLD.
Unless there were enough of them. Perhaps we should give all politicians a list of demands and say if you vote to do any of these things we will recall you or vote you out of office.
Obligatory STSTFU ... Its more like finding a couple hundred phone numbers in the 212 exchange are bookmakers. Then shutting down all of Manhattans phones because of it. Its prior restraint, a disruption of business, and complete over kill.
There are so many interconnections between so many companies you can never tell how a small change will cascade outward. One of these days they are going to shut down a B2B site or domain that services some critical piece of infrastructure, or medical service. If it happens during an emergency situation people could die.
Thank god I bought that huge redneck coleslaw maker last year ...
"As long as big content industries are allowed to buy politicians"
.... As long as any organization can buy a politician ...
FTFY
Ever since nancy pelosi's "pass the health care bill so you can find out whats in it" I have been seriously suspicious every time a politician try's to rush a bill through. We really need to have a way more open method of law making.
The next question is which of the defense contractors Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, or Solera is pushing this forward? It would actually be interesting to see who bought this law.

Build an effigy of chris dodd at Burning Man with a huge 3d printer, create a DVD as the platform he is standing on, gasoline, match ..... LOL
"All I can say is that you are truly full of yourself. You get on me about speculation, and then you post up that crap?"
Please, its not speculation, it's forecasting trends and the psychology of large groups. While not an exact science due to free will, it does give pretty good estimate of when events will occur.
Here is what I see. Thirty years of the content industry abusing people with a small group talking about it. Five years of people using Facebook, 2 years with Facebook reaching a threshold in a way where memes take on a life of their own.
What is happening now is a phase change in the way people communicate and do things. It has been growing (read this) and is continuing to expand. Every government on the planet has had briefs on this. None of them actually get or understand it. The content industry doesn't understand that all is needed is one or two more pushes and real copyright reform will happen. The monopoly will end.
They are pushing the Cyber security bill through as hard and fast as they can. I am wondering if they moved all the SOPA-PIPA stuff into it.
Galaxy 10.1?
We actually need to reset copyright in the US to back when it was 1 term with 1 extension and needed to be paid for and registered.
The term should be shorter than before as payment to society for stealing our public domain.
What I find amusing is, every screw up like this make more people realize how badly the government is screwing up in relationship to the internet. 84,000 web sites with ?mooo.com?, 300,000 this time. I really wish they would shut down a really large site.
"mentioned censorship in this deal. Are you saying that shutting down illegal activity is censorship?"
Shutting down a web site is not censorship if done correctly. Shutting down over 300,000 pages because several of them are doing something illegal is called prior restraint.
It should be STSTFU ... Stupid Troll Shut The Fuck Up
I want to hear the truth, why don't you tell it to me. You are not allowed to use ad hominem attacks, repeat the same talking points, use links that have nothing to do with the conversation, and you have to stick to the topic, in this case the removal of JotForm.com from DNS by GoDaddy.
"Too bad. You use to be a good debater."
Thanks, I still am. I am just very tired of hearing the same talking points from a dozen trolls across 30 or so blogs.
As a side note. What you are seeing online now is very similar to what happened before the Arab spring. Only this time it is targeted at the content industry not a government.
Re: Re: Re: I have an idea for a law
"It is quickly coming to the point that all of us that feel that we (was 'way' FTFY) need to stand up and show it."
This is a global phenomena that is spreading as social media and web 2.0 expand and allow people to discuss what is occurring in the world. However the governments of the world are only allowing input from corporations and disallowing any input from the public. Combined this is leading to resentment and anger towards every government and many corporations. Eventually it will reach a breaking point, where people say "enough already" and things will change.
For some reason I do not feel sorry for the scum bags ...
