First apple patents round corners, now they trademark the lunchroom, what is next, the circle or the square?
First apple patents round corners, now they copyright the lunchroom, what is next, the circle or the square?
I thought it was a really funny joke. The problem is I had to explain it to the AC.
There is also a US freak out "Antigua, power level 9,000" joke in here somewhere. I just can not pull that one together.
The way they will spin this is simple. Terrorist use piracy to make money. Antigua is a piracy haven. Hence Antigua is in league with terrorists.
Interesting legal question, will this site be covered under the six strikes plan in the US?
I think silverscarcat is making a "how much it costs the US government for various things" joke.
You know ...
$500 for a wrench
$800 for a hammer
$20,000 for a toilet seat.
Perhaps Kim Dotcom should have one of his mirror sites in Antigua.
Any rational person would look at the failure of French 3 strikes plan and say, this is a bad idea to implement elsewhere. I am convinced that the MPAA and RIAA are pushing this forward so they can say "look we are doing something" to maintain their funding.
The companies funding these groups (MPAA, RIAA, etc) should begin taking a results based funding approach. Or perhaps they should just look at the past 100 years of results, and determine if they should continue funding them.
At the state level it is a condition called OCD, at the federal level it is called cyber stalking.
In 2007 there was only one AC then mike used copyright law to grab the name up. After that we began calling the original AC TAM.
Simple solution to the tanks issue.

The media will never do anything about it. If you look at the SOPA PIPA debate and rebellion, it took shutting down government phone switches before any news organizations even mentioned it. When they did speak it was seriously misleading. These are news organizations that rely on things remaining as they are.
The more likely scenario is, in the next 10 years we will reach the point where enough people are getting their news from alternate sources, to tip the tide. Google plus, Facebook, blogs, RSS feeds, etc will all play their part.
Immortality is about 10 to 20 years out. We may be stuck with them forever ...
There is this thing called a remote. It has this other thing called a mute button, I use it on every commercial, as do many other people. There is no difference.
"including some questions about how random the random key generation really was, as well as significant concerns about Mega's claims that it offered deduplification"
The deduplication can be something as simple as a CRC checksum being generated pre-encryption. If they use a one way hash on it, generate a distinct hash key per user, and only link that to the specific users account. I do not see a problem.
If however this is system wide deduplication, it opens them up to more of the same DOJ BS they were nailed with before.
"Must have been an unimaginable amount of pressure he was facing to do what he did."
Or it could have been an accident ie autoerotic asphyxiation, or murder made to look like a suicide.
Re: My firing
Suggestion. Next time keep the company private this way you do not have to deal with share holders, an unreasonable board, and maximizing value to the share holder.
If you didn't sign a non-compete before leaving, get together with Jeff and run the MFer's into the ground.
