At most it takes is an NSL, probably less.
While there was a tremendous furor in St. Louis, other people of white, pink, brown, black and yellow colored skin being killed by police. Often shot in the back while weaponless.
There is a severe mistake in thinking that this is simply a racial issue, but rather one of perceived power. The controlling factor is "thou shalt not embarrass or annoy your boss." So try not to kill people with money, power or connections.
The intent of having a perceptual racial divide is to allow the establishment of a "right" to murder civilians that has in fact already spread through out the color spectrum. It is just that the PR job has made some people think they are safe from spontaneous and arbitrary execution.
Why would anyone become a cop, if doing so didn't provide a license to bag humans without numeric limit, or size, gender or age requirement?
Who knew that DHS had an underwear fetish? That is the only explanation that I can come up with in using law enforcement in a trivial civil case.
I hope the boys had an explosively good time.
Elections -- yes, meaningful elections are another story.
I know that it is not right, nor in tune with my beliefs over IP, but I can not help but enjoy Schadenfreude over the nuisance level that this will cause Fox. I could only hope that the suit had more reason to bring real pain to Fox in karma like payback for their "news" and editorials.
As bad as TWC is, I am not looking forward to the day Comcast takes it over. The saving grace may be that so many TWC employees they are fired that they will not have time to harass individual customers.
Given the aspirations of the trademark generators, and the disinclination of the the trademark office to turn down any applications, it would be best to suture everyone's mouth closed, and cut off everyone's fingers.
@Binko Barnes --Anonymous Coward could be an on duty cop for all we know. Wouldn't be the first time a U.S. agency had a cadre of PR persons on blogs pretending to be 'civilians'.
I am not so sure that will make any difference to the vast majority of Youtubers. Magazines have Ben getting away with insanely flattering reviews even on high end products like audio equipment, cars, and other high end products. Editors have even admitted that this can be a standard practice to keep the advertising dollars coming in.
Over time it all goes away no matter how ridiculous the story.
Dotcom, Ivins, Schwarz, etc all. Totalitarianism makes and remakes it's history as it seems fit.
Privacy is just so 19th century.
That is a banal excuse of the acceptance of DRM. With little effort and inconvenience, one can legally avoid or minimize providing profits to those who utilize DRM. CD's can be purchased 2nd hand, as can DVDs, books and other items. It is the unwillingness to do without that allows the DRMers to stay in business. For myself, I haven't purchased a DVD ever. I have bought 1 CD first hand since 1999 because of abuse of copyright. Libraries and the 'net make books available at no cost. While a library pays one fee for a DRMed object, it is split tens of ways. Lawful sharing on a personal level has the same effect.
DRM is endorsed and paid for by those consumers who are too lazy to fight back.
Consumers must love DRM'ed products. Otherwise they would stop buying them, and producers would stop making them. An example of this power was the great @New Coke@ disaster.
I think I will patent breathing. There will be about six minutes to cough up the license fee. Infringers will be patently obvious.
Too many people are naive about the privacy of what they put on a computer. This even after hearing about the break ins at large chain stores and governmental offices.
A simple rule of thumb is that you don't put on your computer that which you don't want your worst enemy, or the government to find.
I am not a cracker, but I did some time setting up a 500 node ethernet system. A fellow administrator, in an armed service no less, bet me I couldn't break into his system. A half hour later I had his password along with 3/4 of those of his staff. Done with kiddie scripts available all over the net. He hadn't even changed the admin's default password.
If you are going to use a device, you learn just how dangerous it is. Cars, guns, chainsaws, knives, axes, et al, are dangerous. We treat them with respect (at least without imbibing 5 shots of Tequila. Use of computers should command at least as much regard.
A number of airport personnel have stated that it is trivial to walk around security without being detected. And if this guy hadn't been paying so much attention to his iPad, he probably would have avoided notice as well.
You can't even read between the lines anymore. Nothing that is happening make sense other than Cheney's shadow government running everything.
The bad apple theory has a corollary -- a bad apple spoils the bunch. Cops, supervisors and judges knew what was happening here, yet allowed it to proceed. Knowing that the actions of another officer are illegal, and allowing them to proceed is a crime.
Re: Re: I hate DHS and their actions, but these jerks aren't innocent, either...
That the reputed "trademarks" used on the panties are satyric in nature -- demonstrating the the Royals and the Feds are nothing but a bunch of asses that require covering up as best as possible.
