Not only will those big magnets forcefully remove the guns from would-be criminals, they would demagnetize the credit and ATM cards and hotel room keys for all those ne'er-do-wells...and everyone else, for that matter (the strips still work as back-up for the chips). Let's not forget that we'll show those bad guys that crime never pays by ripping their phones out of their pockets! And screw your pacemaker, we have to get the guns! Collateral damage to all the innocents is a small price to pay to create an orderly society!
This strategy could be worse. NYJ have a better record than 7 other teams in the league right now. Outsourcing the team-building to EA Sports is probably a lot cheaper than hiring a real person. A new Playstation 5 and the game would cost less than $600 at Amazon. A real person hired at minimum wage will cost a bit over $15,000 in wages alone. Then there's unemployment and Worker's Comp costs, as well as having to give them an office, computer, benefits, various other overhead costs...
I find it curious that this has garnered such support given that both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly are controlled by the Republicans. And not by a small margin, either. It is very red in there. Curioser is that every vote in the House and the Senate and their respective Committees were unanimous. BUT...it could get vetoed by the Governor. Even though there's a veto-proof majority, there is no time left to override. The 135th General Assembly adjourns at the end of the calendar year and all unpassed bills die.
SS7 is like the weather. Everybody talks about it, but nobody does anything about it.
Put your hands together, not out your hands together. I hate it when I blow the punchline
Ladies and gentlemen, out your hands together for the Googol Rubles!!!
There will be an insurance claim to replace the damaged MRI. I wonder how much the insurance company lawyers have in the way of guts to go after the cops for compensation.
It was poltergeist, which are also notoriously used to guard grow operations.
"Will Anyone Learn From This?" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
The coalition is being opposed by the Amalgamated Brotherhood of Brick Makers.
Really happy that such an important, informative site (as evidenced by the amount of participation) has reached this milestone. And sorta pleased that I helped in a tiny (0.00875% of all comments) way.
Interesting that this comes out on the same day that they announced the second price hike since July. I guess they expect me to pay for their lousy program. Ha! I just canceled my subscription.
Telecom CEO: It looks as if we will have to pay those fines. (To executive assistant) Check the couch for loose change.
"Enshittifcation" describes the degrading and eventual death of online services caused by greed. I think there's a term asking to be born here where dictatorial hubris kills an idea as it's being born or during its conception. How about Putinization?
They say they won't "share" the data with LexisNexis, et al, but the definition of the word "share" does not include compensation. It's not even implied. Therefore, GM can, by the terms they laid out for themselves, sell the data to whomever, for a marginal fee.
Microsoft Sentinel provides attack detection, threat visibility, proactive hunting, and threat response to help you stop threats before they cause harm. I wonder what the folks in Redmond would say about her trademark? Is there any chance of confusion between a school mascot and threat detection software? No, but let's not allow that to stop MS from using Sentinel to detect a threat and then stomping on her.
If we allow right-to-repair, the terrorists win.
