  People who burn Korans or Bibles or whatever are not "protected" or shielded from the natural consequences of their speech. They are "protected" from governmental interference. Of course if the books actually had the magical properties ascribed to them, angels or whatnot would come down and start smiting!

  A perfect example of why we need a visible +/- vote counter. Sounds like maybe you should implement this feature at your site and show TD how to do it "right." This isn't Reddit, no reason to have a vote counter like that IMNSHO. But if it was implemented you'd really need to be logged in to make full use of it anyway.

  Why shouldn’t the states experiment with their own version of hate speech statutes to penalize speech that deliberately insults people based on religion, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation?

  Because such laws would be unconstitutional, fortunately.

  Copy Right or Wrong

  All because South Africa wants to implement a totally reasonable copyright plan that respects the public's rights in a manner entirely consistent with current US law.

  Copyright law only serves corporate interests, not the public good. I think this article really drives that point home.
  "Fair Use" is antithetical to corporate ownership of the commons.

  It seems like you want the courts to run this thru a thorough battery of cases but the truth is it was tossed at the onset because even if everything he claims is factually true, no laws were broken. And yes, we are going to make fun of him for filling the lawsuit, and you for defending him.
