    1. subsequent to publication individual works are included in an independent scientific work for the purpose of explaining the contents,

    2. subsequent to publication passages from a work are quoted in an independent work of language,

    3. individual passages from a released musical work are quoted in an independent musical work.

Germany has no Fair Use laws

Germany has no fair use laws so the law means more freedom instead of less.

    Blaming

Many people like to conceal the truth that violence is part of human nature.

It is much easier to blame unnatural things like internet, video games, music etc. for disgusting deeds than to confess that we all are able to be atrocious.

It is hypocritical and fatuous to understand acts of violence as perversion. Humankind has already proven that "perversion" is part of us.

The rise of artificiality and the departure from being an animal by creating virtual worlds to circumvent our instincts is the only thing that protects us from much more violences that lies within us.

Virtual worlds as rule based information systems (e.g. religious beliefs, constitutional state, video games and other fiction) help us, to understand and to control the wild beasts within all of us.

Re: Re: Re: Re: It's the software.

    I second this.
Also: especially youtube influenced the creativity of the masses in the 00s. this news post promotes a marketing driven decision of a famous director.
especially the expensive iphone is not a creativity driver for hobbyist filming. filming for the masses is there since the 1980s and VHS.

the iphone and the apple brand represent digital creativity because of an intelligent marketing strategy. this might be the reason for the director's decision and its public announcement. it is like saying "this film is a tribute to the digital (brand polluted) livestyle".

i think severe aspects of cyberbullying should be outlawed. but afaik most aspects are outlawed already. things like suicide incitement, picture manipulation/defamation, account hacking...

As I know companies like Sun give their employees a do-what-you-like time since ages. I.e. as i know Project Darkstar (now discontinued after oracle merger) is a child of this policy. so i do not really know what this video is new about... anyway this was mentioned before :)... anyway nice video...

    Re: Re:

Apple's way of saying that they do not want to support flash & co is just not tolerable. Instead of flaming Flash they just should say the truth: they want to protect the iphone experience and they want to control the app market. I could live with such a statement because I know Apple is a commercial enterprise...
if i were adobe i would threaten apple with stopping the development of the creative suite for their devices. apple harms the image of adobe in such a blatant way that apple can't be seen as a reliable neutral business partner anymore.

    >>One will still need Adobe products to design, write and

    >>force their software on an entire industry.
wrong... as i said there is adobe flex. it is more comfortable with the adobe suit but you can develop flash for free.

"...and yet, Apple STILL has to wait for Adobe to support new Apple features when Apple releases a new product. Adobe is ALWAYS a year or more late to do this IF they ever do at all."
they don't have to. of they do not want to wait they could implement their own flash player or helping the open swf player gnash to evolve. i think it is only a question of time when adobe releases the flash player code. project tamarin is only the beginning http://www.mozilla.org/projects/tamarin/.

    apple fanboys... strange breed

@all those who defend apple... why?

apple tries to limit others and at the same time they claim flash would be proprietary, restricting and evil. with the opensource technology "adobe flex" which runs on flash players you can develop flash stuff with anything you want. http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/
when you want to develop iphone apps you have to use xcode and a mac. flash development on the other hand is free. just use FlashDevelop and the FlexSDK for example. Other Flash generators like swish etc. are on the market for ages.
