  • Is It Plagiarism… Or Is It Wikipedia-Like Collaboration?

    Charlie Potatoes ( profile ), 10 Mar, 2007 @ 01:30pm

    plagiarism

i'm a freelance writer and in lean times i write college essays for the well-heeled under-achiever. much of my work is for theology students, and i write on the subject of ethics. they don't seem to see the irony. they are not supposed to pass my work off as their own, of course, but rather use my essay as a guide.. yes.. right.. wink wink, nudge nudge.. but sometimes i wonder where they get the money..its what i think of as expensive.

    the hall monitor...

they are misanthropic and whale eaters...duh..i didnt imply that eating whales is what qualifies them as misanthropes. what a dildo...so they should channel this propensity for loathing other races, and do the world some good, by eating koreans... leaving our whales alone...who the hell made you the hall monitor? it was just a modest proposal...lighten up...

    hold the phone.....

let me get this straight...the japs not only are eating our whales, to the tune of 1,000 a year, but they also have nuclear secrets? their constitution says they can't even have an army. what the hell are these misanthropic destroyers of marine mammals doing with nuclear secrets? let them eat north koreans. they aren't endangered and it would be a public service. maybe they could just eat each other, actually.

  • Companies Pay Fines For Advertising In Adware… Still Not Clear How They Broke The Law

    Charlie Potatoes ( profile ), 30 Jan, 2007 @ 06:24am

    what they did wrong

i like to think of it as the equivelent of coming to my home and spray painting their name on my walls. what they did was abet the vandalizing of my property.
they didnt spend that kind of money and not realize exactly what was going to be happening. they are as sleezy as the adware company. they deserve whatever punishment they get...
but then, you can't actually fine a company..they simply raise prices to compensate. in essence the consumer pays the fine for them.

    Charlie Potatoes ( profile ), 25 Jan, 2007 @ 07:22am

    sensational headline, mike

Ok, you got me to take time out of my day to read how it's a crime to use quicken to make a will... unfortunately that isn't what your story is about.
since i have no intention of opening an office and making wills using that software for hire, the article doesn't relate to me.
i've seen similar headlines on the cover of national inquirer while i wait in line at the grocery store. somehow i expect better from TechDirt. oh well...fuck you towel heads.
