I hope the do-over is handled improv style with suggestions from the audience.
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll post some corrections.
Well, I know what I'm writing about tomorrow!
What does this have to do with tech?
"police dash cam"
"security camera system"
"crime lab"
Did you bother reading beyond the headline?
So, you actually support the trampling of the First Amendment under the color of law? I can't even begin to imagine what your ideal America looks like.
BTW, what it has to do with tech Mr Cushing?
This site has been around for 15 years. I'd be more surprised if it hadn't expanded its scope.
Someone will take this man and make him VP.
hurries back to grab as much wi-fi as possible and shove it into the largest suitcase
DEAR GOD
IT'S FINALLY HAPPENED
*gathers canned goods and sharpened sticks and prepares for the apocalypse.*
But all this is well and truly off-topic, and probably only interesting to the two of us.
I don't know. I found it very fascinating and I'm the one who wrote the post currently not being discussed.
That and the grand jury part of it are what made this post a bit more restrained than it would have been otherwise. Not so much dancing-on-the-grave as it is tapping-toe-rhythmically-at-the-plot's-periphery.
How reassuring. "Incidental" metadata is subject to more minimization guidelines and procedures than "incidental" communications.
I've edited the post to reflect your observations.
I'm the author of this post, Derek, but I'm not the commenter you're responding to.

So, it's back to keeping the entire internet open at all times, a la Masnick.
It would be better if the fee went toward improvements. It seems to have been designed with complete antagonism towards the user and the fee slapped on top of it discourages even more people from navigating the system.
It does work, I'll give it that. I can usually find what I'm looking for but it's completely ridiculous that the $0.10/page fee applies even to searches that fail to return any results.
Ah, the joys of rewriting a sentence a handful of times before settling on the version that uses a verb tense right out of Hitchhiker's Guide.
Re: Re:
In this context (and this context means the surrounding tweets before the account was yanked -- which included hanging out with hookers and consuming copious amounts of drugs), "trill" basically means "keeping it real." Which, of course, requires more context...
here's the Urban Dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Trill
An adjective used in hip-hop culture to describe someone who is considered to be well respected, coming from a combination of the words "true" and "real".
So... Mayor Ardis is stating his street bonafides.
(I realize this answer will probably raise even more questions. My apologies in advance.)
