    WHAT IS MICROSOFT THINKING?

    It seems apparent to me that this whole deal is based on greed over advertising dollars. I can understand this. Here is the problem as I see it. The World has about six and a half billion people on it. Approx two thirds of these people can't even aford to buy food. We havn't found any other civilizations in our galaxy yet let alone any other civilizations in any other galaxys. So who the Hell are these companys going to sell all this crap to. This buy out deal seems to have all the promise of putting a commercial jet engine on a 1965 Volkswagan Beatle and driving it.Don't get me completly wrong I have a lot of Microsoft Products and really like them. I use Yahoo and I really like it. Maybe at some price this deal would make sense to me but 43 to 45 billion dollars. Microsoft has to have gone a little funny in the head. As W.C. Fields once said. It was such a nice hotel. They even had matreses on the walls.

    IN YOUR CLOSET. A friend of mine who buys and sells antiques went to an estate sale one day. When he deceided on what he wanted he called the seller over and said Ill take this and this and I don't want this or this but I will take this. At this point the seller said I don't think that you understand? My friend inquired what do you mean? Well the seller said this is a box sale. You have to take the good with the bad. This is the good and this is the bad.The Internet is no different.

    THIS IS NOT A CASE OF TIES GOES TO THE RUNNER

    If one thinks of this in terms of the Good Sumaritan Law. Sure If one pulls a person from a burning car at an accident scene and through this action causes an additional injury to the individual no award should be given to the injured party for their rescue by the rescurer.If the rescuer then after the accident takes the individual home and medically treats that person for a couple of years and causes injury and that individual is not a doctor of course that individual is liable for injury. The same is true as I see it as far as the telcos go. Maybe they could be cut some slack for a few days or a few weeks but after this situation but I do not believe they did no what they were doing was against the law. Drag all these folks into court and lets find out what they did and why! Lets not give all these people immunity for something that they did without even knowing exactly what it was and why!

    I WOULD'T TRUST GEORGE BUSH

    as far as I could throw a Steinway Grand Piano and I have a bad back. He has demonstrated my belief to me for the last seven years through every agency of the Federal Government. For me my most memorable Kodak moment was during a Senate Judicary hearing dealing with the firing of the eight or nine Federal Prosecuters. Two prominant Republican Senators Orin Hatch and Jeff Sessions were in attendance. I have seen both of them at one time or another look ill dealing with something in a hearing, but I have never seen both of them in the same session look that ill. These company's knew exactly what they were doing! In the interest of explaining to President Bush and any president and any company's that works with a following president the rule of law is what this country is based on. This thing should hit the court system.

    ARE PEOPLE GETTING SMARTER?

    It happens to me every time that I buy a new computer. Six months after I have it all set up and and working fine something new comes out and Jeez Louise its time for an expensive upgrade or sulk because I haven't done it. I don't even need the upgrade. In most cases even if I do upgrade the thing none of the software that I need will run on the thing or if it does I notice almost no difference in its operation. This brings me to another point. Cell Phones. Not only don't I own one, I don't even want one. What is it with people who need a new upgraded cell phone every year. For crying out loud its a telephone! I do undersand why some people want and do need them but really who needs all the features that these things offer. Its not like that these companys are exactly giving these things away either. I will just leave you all with what I have distilled the average cell phone call made in the United States down to. Party one sitting on a bus heres their cell phone ring. They answer it. Hello! Silence. Reply. Im on the bus and I will be there when I get there. Now this is worth signing another long term contract for aside from another couple hundred bucks for the new model!

    WHEN KENT CONRAD ONE OF THE TWO SENATORS FROM NORTH DAKOTA DECRIBDED THE SENATE AS CONSTRUCTIVE AMBUGITY HE GOT IT EXACTLY RIGHT. CONGRESS JUST CAN'T HELP THEMSELVES.     HMMM I LIKE THE GRAND THEFT AUTO SERIES

    THE ONLY THING ABOUT THE SERIES THAT MAKES ME FEEL MORE HOSTILE TOWARD THE COMPANY IS BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A GAME SYSTEM I PLAY ALL MY GAMES ON A PC. I WILL HAVE TO WAIT A LONG TIME BEFORE IT IS AVAILABLE FOR ME TO PLAY. HAVING SAID THIS I AM NOT GOING TO GO OUT AND SHOT OR RUN OVER ANYONE BECAUSE OF THIS. I AM AWARE THAT LAWYERS HAVE FOUND A CONVIENT LEGAL DEFENSE IN GAMES LIKE THIS CAUSE GREATER VIOLENCE IN SOCIETY. BALDERDASH! I BELEIVE ANYONE AFFECTED BY A GAME LIKE THIS IN THIS WAY COULD EASILY BE TRIGERED BY AN ADVERTISMENT FOR CATCHUP. I DO HAVE TO GIVE THE CITY OF CHICAGO A BREAK HERE. LETS FACE IT CHICAGO IS ONE OF THE MOST VIOLENT CITIES IN THE COUNTRY AND THEIR PERCEPTION IS CORRECT THAT ADVERTISING THIS GAME IN LIGHT OF THIS SITUATION REALLY LOOKS BAD.

    FRANKLY I BELIEVE THIS WHOLE DEAL IS BEWILDERING

    Folks as I understand this deal Microsoft is putting approx. 43 billion dollars on the table. I really believe that with a lot less money they could build a comporable system and have money left to burn. Pretty much this whole thing comes down to the collection of advertising revenues. I am pretty sure the way not only the US economy but the rest of the Worlds economy will be going over the next 10 years if Microsoft gets what it wants It will be a financially loosing proposition in a really signifigant way.

    on saturday or sunday and turned on what are now called news programs. Jeez Louise just what I want to watch, featured diseases on almost every station. This week I began thinking who is so interested in this subject so early in the morning every weekend. Then It dawned on me. All these programs are sponsered by Pharmacutical Companys. These programs are really Infomercials in a different format.

    TWENTY THREE TO TWENTY FOUR MINUTES OF EVERY HOUR IS COMPRISED OF COMMERCIALS, BUMPERS, AND PROMOS. THE NEWS THAT YOU DO GET IS AS STALE AS A THREE DAY OLD FISH. THE REST OF IT IS WHAT ARE THE HOLLYWOOD STARS DOING. DOGS THAT WON AWARDS IN SHOWS. PROPAGANDA ABOUT HOW GREAT OUR MILITARY TROUPS ARE DOING, AND HOW MUCH THAT THEY LOVE THE MILITARY. OH YEAH DONT FORGET THE IDIOTIC ENDLESS CHATTER ABOUT WHICH PRESIDENTAL CANDIDATE OR VOLUNTEER FOR THE SAME SAID THE MOST IDIOTIC THING TODAY, OR A WEEK OR TWO AGO AND ENDLESSLY BLATHERS ON ABOUT IT.     ADVERTISING IS DRIVING ME CLINICALY INSANE

    I PREFORMED A HARDLY SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT. I WOUND UP A CHESS CLOCK. I HIT THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE WHILE A PROGRAM WAS ON TELEVISION. WHEN A COMMERCIAL, BUMPER OR PROMO CAME ON I HIT THE RIGHT SIDE. I DID THIS WITH TALK RADIO AS WELL. I PREFORMED THIS EXPERIMENT MANY TIMES WITH DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. I FOUND THAT 23 TO 24 MIN. PER HOUR WAS DEVOTED IN EACH PROGRAM TO COMMERCIALS, BUMPERS, AND PROMOS. IF YOU ADD AN ADDITIONAL 5 MIN OF STALE NEWS ALMOST 1 OF EVERY 2 MIN WAS FILLED WITH THE JUNK. IT REMINDS ME OF THE OLD JOKE IF YOU TAKE A BANNANA AND PEEL IT AND THEN THROW AWAY THE BONE WHAT HAVE YOU GOT LEFT. IM A STRONG BELIEVER IN FREE SPEECH. I UNDERSTAND THE REASONS FOR ADVERTISING. THIS ISNT FREE SPEECH. THIS IS TORTURE.

    HAVING SPENT NEARLY FOUR DECADES IN SALES AND CUSTOMER SRVICE ALMOST EVERY COMPANY I PURCHASE SOMETHING FROM OR COMPANY I REQUEST A SERVICE FROM HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE FOUNDATION OF THE PROBLEM IS THE PEOPLE WE RELATE TO AND I DONT PUT ALL OF THEM IN THE SAME BOX IS THEY JUST DONT CARE. MARSHALL FIELD THE FIRST SAID, GIVE THE LADY WHAT SHE WANTS.
