    i was just going to say, just like fickle googs to abandon something just when it becomes popular/interesting...
    used to be a big googs fan, now, not so much...
    seems like page/schmidt/et al's long game was to capture the private panopticon franchise, and then milk gummints (if not effectively subsume them) with goog's unique access/data of EVERYONE...
    NSA ? are you kidding me ? googs don't need no steeenkin NSA...
    the NSA has to go to some lengths to siphon up everything; with googs, WE do all the work for them, and submit it all 'willingly' (for certain definitions of willingly)...

    that info omly makes it a little more problematic, though...
    it said only affects about 3% of epileptics, AND almost always peters out by mid 20's, thought they said almost unheard of past that age... have no idea how old eichenwald is, but appesrs to be significantly past mid 20s...
    just sayin'...

    BUT, the other confounding issue, is WHAT ELSE triggers seizures, AND could it have been something else ?
    as i alluded to, could simply getting overly upset ABOUT the image -NOT the image itself, trigger a seizure ?

    thanks for the answer, but i believe 1-3 do have some incidental bearing (for example, if the flashing has to be at a certain frequency to work, WAS the offending graphic at that frequency ? i think that is a salient factoid)
    besides the particulars of this case, i am genuinely interested in the mechanism and conditions for such triggers...
    as i said, there are any number of 'flashy' things all around us, do they ALL induce seizures ?

    i don't get the details...

    ...and as kampers know, the devil is in the details...
    1. i had heard that flashing images can induce an epileptic fit, but is that ALL epileptics, or a small subset...
    2. is it ANY random flashing thingy, or does it have to have certain characteristics ?
    3. aside from that, is such a graphic 'guaranteed' to induce a fit, or just some increased chance ?
    4. given what a pig of a mediawhore this status quo water carrier is, I DO NOT BELIEVE HIM FOR A SECOND... EVEN with video, i am inclined to disbelieve a lying sack of shit like him...
    further, even if he did have a fit, could it be triggered by him getting in a huff about this stuff, rather than the graphic itself ?
    lastly, is this asshole driving around where any number of flashy things -including sunlight being occluded behind a row of trees- could -apparently- cause him to spas out ? ? ?

    you know why ? you can 'hide' assets in your primary residence in la florida... in other words, as a state resident, your primary residence is pretty much immune from being sold to pay the proceeds of judgments won against you...
    (or from being taken by creditors, bankruptcy, etc, if i remember correctly... AND while i might dislike that this apparently benefits prenda-scum, i think it is a good law for us 99%, too... one reason you have rich pukes here with zillion dollar mansions...)

    secondly, WHAT EXACTLY -repeat: EXACTLY- is THE problem ? ? ? that *someone's* feelings *somewhere* are hurt ? WTF ? that is UNAVOIDABLE, especially given the 'criteria', much less the subjective nature of feeling hurt...
    here is what needs to be done : NOTHING !
    it is incumbent upon the reader to accept or reject what is being said, NOT THE WRITER TO SELF-CENSOR so as to not POTENTIALLY 'hurt' the most sheltered and incapable of the species...
    half the problem we have is AVOIDING talking about all kinds of issues openly and honestly because people dont want to be ganged up on by tone police and other PC garbage...
    i fully realize a LOT of people don't like REAL free spedch cause it is yucky and oncedest made a sparkle pony cry...

    oh, as an aside, one reason the security protocols were not followed, is they were so onerous and over-the-top, there was NO WAY to make the process work effectively while getting rreal work done...
    i would bet dollars to donut holes that is what happens 90% of the time: the process is so stilted, NO ONE follows them... sure, on paper, they are super-secure, in reality, all that bullshit is ignored...

    yep, worked for engrng firm where had to undergo backgnd chk and get cllearance to wotk on 'top secret' projects, which were mostly repurposing old army bases and bombing ranges for civlian use...
    firstly, 'security' clearance for these projects was w-a-y overkill... secondly, they had ALL KINDS of supposed security systems in place, secured faraday room, blah blah blah, NONE of whivh was ever used or security protocols followed once we started the actual projects... it wss ALL just ecpensive bullshit which was never used...
    not to mention, the clearance process itself was BS...
