Is Internet Radio Doomed?
from the who-knows dept
The folks from Knowledge@Wharton have put together a nice little summary of the controversy over webcasting fees. There’s really not much new in the article, and it certainly doesn’t answer the question it poses in the headline, but it’s still worth reading if you’re at all confused over what’s happening in the space. The only thing that they leave out is that the music industry is quite aware that they’re killing off most independent, small webcasters. The article doesn’t explain that the industry doesn’t like those webcasters because they can’t control them, and can’t force them to play the music of their plastic megahit pop wonders.
