More Reasons Why The CBDTPA Is Bad

from the just-letting-you-know dept

Just in case you hadn’t realized it from the variety of articles I’ve been posting about the CBDTPA, I think it’s a horrible idea for a law written by people who have no idea what they’re doing. It’s bad news, and there’s no use being subtle about it. Here’s a good article from the Guardian in the UK showing why the CBDTPA is a backwards law. The writer points out that in the US domestic spending on computer technology is $600 billion, whereas domestic spending on Hollywood is $35 billion. Yet, Congress is pushing this law on behalf of Hollywood that runs right over the technology industry. It’s a bad law. It will do amazing damage to the technology industry.
